COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina safety Chris Culliver will miss Saturday’s game against Arkansas.
Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier said Tuesday that Culliver’s left shoulder is still bothering him. But the coach also said he is angry the junior didn’t report how sore his shoulder was before last Saturday’s game against Tennessee.
“We had a little talk with our team that if you have an injury and you can’t perform, you need to tell the coaches,” Spurrier said. “If that was the biggest problems, and we think it was, it was certainly embarrassing for all of us. We don’t like it and I don’t like it. Hopefully, that will not happen again.”
Culliver missed some tackles against the Vols because he didn’t want to hurt the shoulder more. It’s the same shoulder he had surgery on during the offseason.
Culliver is third on the team in tackles and has started every game this season.
Spurrier also says the Gamecocks may not have left tackle Jarriel King against Arkansas. King is still trying to shake off the effects of a blow to the head last week. King has started all but one game.

Old ball coach score some points with ut fans. Don't make excuses like Big Urban. You can still be ok to us. Maybe not.

Sore shoulder?
That's nothing. I'm pretty sure that meyer said that Tebow had the swine flu when he played against Tennessee.

C'mon stevie. Not even a bum shoulder on culliver had anything to do with your turnovers.

Hard to believe that some UT fans wanted spurrier to be Fulmer's replacement.

Spurrier as a Vol coach. Now that funny. I guess if we were desperate.

Well, you can't spell 'Stupid' without an S, a P, and a U.

Nah, how about "You can't spell 'excuse' without 'U-S-C'"

1) This concerns UT football ....how?
2) It would take more than one injured Gamecock to have stopped UT Saturday.
3) Best wishes to the injured SC playas
4) Quit while you're ahead Steve-o.

His shoulder should be fine. Every time he tried to hit Hardesty all he grabbed was air! See Spurrier, even our guys knew he was injured and were taking it easy on him.

Played hurt ? bless his heart
just think if he hadnt played hurt, they probably would of had more turnovers and got beat worse.so whats the point in this article?

Sounds like we beat em up pretty bad. That is a new twist though. They are really beat up after playing UT, so the coach says he is mad cause they were hurt before the game and he didn't know it?? OK Whatever..............

Spurrier won 6 SEC championships and a NC at UF. I think he would do OK here. How soon people forget.

Yeah and I'm angry Daniel Lincoln didn't report his pulled quad against Bama. Which one do you think had more to do with the outcome of the game?
Volunatic writes:
Recruiting at uf is easy. That is why he was so successful there.
He's washed up.
