Another streak has fallen by the wayside.
Just like last week, it probably won't make a difference to Tennessee.
The Vols were finally stopped on a fourth-down attempt after converting their eighth in a row, but all it really did was keep UT from posting a perfect quarter while jumping all over Memphis 14-0 at Neyland Stadium.
Bryce Brown punched in a short run, Jonathan Crompton hooked up with Gerald Jones for a 17-yard score and the defense continued its stout play. After giving up a touchdown for the first time in 10 quarters last week to South Carolina, the Vols have started a new run with a scoreless frame to start the game and take control of the Tigers.

Maybe if Tennessee hangs 80 on Memphis, the Tigers will give up and agree to end this meaningless series.

You can't say enough about how good our coaching staff is. Now that they've had more time with them......this is a different team. DEFINITELY a different quarterback.
Look out SEC...maybe not as much next year.....but we're coming!

Wow, I am amazed! Can our coaches develop talent or what!!! Crompton looks incredible tonight. If you are recruit you have to believe if you go to Tennessee the great NFL coaches will improve your play and prepare you for the NFL.
I just heard an announcer tonight say, Luke Stocker is a first round draft pick. Incredibly Fulmer didn't have the same production from him that Kiffin and our NFL coaches have been able to produce out of Mr Stocker 1st round draft choice. GBO!

Gentlemen...we are continuing to see the progress of what will be a dominate program. Yes, I realize we are playing very weak competition but I truly can't remember the last time I've watched a memphus game and felt this good. I'm usually wondering when we will break loose and kick some tiger tail. We'll get to see Stephens in the second half which I've been waiting on just to know what we've got for next year. If he's progressed at all like Crompton has, we may be in better hands than we thought for next year rather than having to depend on a freshman.
We need to continue to bring in the studs as I know they will and develop them as we've seen with this group. The quality of Volunteer Football has taken the next step. I for one am once again proud to be a VOL!!!!

Differently from years past, the foot will not come off of the gas pedal when we get a team down. Go for it on 4th down on our own 35? On-side kick in 1st quarter? Are u serious?! This is some fun sh#t! I don't care if it is mempizz st!! Haha

Now, now, everybody knows that in Tuscaloosa, you have to have two feet AND A HAND down in bounds to get the interception.
I guess that thug from Chicago will suspend both of us. I'm talking about Slive, not Rohm Emanuel. You and I are both going to have to sit out the Ole Miss game.

Saw it myself. Absolutely without a doubt a verifiable interception for the world to see. Not only did they miss the call on the field (possibly understandable), but a group of "trained professionals" could not see what the cameras prove ... a foot inbounds first, non-juggled interception. A great play by a great player BTW.
The field official even reacted with a "strong nod" when getting the decision from the booth over the headset. I've never ever seen an official react. They always look stoic not trying to give away the decision until it's spoken.
Also, did you hear the dead air from both announcers. The color guy said one time sheepishly before the decision that it looked like and INT to him. Not a single word afterward ... NOTHING, just dead air! Lundquist never ever made a single comment. They have been warned to keep quite about the 2009 train wreck called SEC officiating.
Folks, this is a travesty. I'm not sure who the guilty parties are, but it is without a doubt in my mind, corruption. The frequency of this makes it impossible to ignore. My instincts say "follow the money".
Like the US Congress, the SEC leadership needs a total house cleaning. Total.

Great post LiveFaith,
I agree with you. I am saddened by what I have seen unlike all previous years, but there is a trend of inaccurate calls favoring Florida and Alabama. Even after all the complaints, instead of Slive addressing and improving the officiating he attacks those coaches who complain. There is no action to improve officiating only action to quiet anyone who is against the end result.
