KNOXVILLE — Ole Miss senior Dexter McCluster is part-time wide receiver, part-time tailback and full-time problem for opposing defenses.
This week, he's Tennessee's problem.
"The problem with Dexter is he lines up everywhere," Volunteers coach Lane Kiffin said of the 5-foot-8, 165-pound speedster.
McCluster has amassed more than 1,000 rushing and receiving yards in three-plus seasons at Ole Miss, and two of the senior's best games have come in the past three weeks.

The Vols will shut down Dexter as well as their overrated QB!

Hard to shut both of them down completely. Snead may be erratic but he can hit the big one at any time. McCluster only needs a crease to take it to the house from anywhere. I think we need a big day from the Vol offense to limit OM's possessions. If we can run the ball on them consistently, we win easily. We can't have any three-and-outs on offense or give up any big plays on defense. We also need to win the turnover battle and get no less than a draw in special-teams play. If all that happens, we win by at least two TDs.

One thing wrong with having a team putting there chances on one or two guys is if they get hurt or shut down, well. GO VOLS!

Lets put Eric on him - that'll slow him down.

This is the shortest and uninformative article I have ever seen. Will the rest of the article be posted later??

I agree... Have EB spy him through the game. That would slow him down. Our deffensive line and secondary will be enough to keep Snead in check. With that being said anything can happen, and i hope we show up to play like the Georgia and USCjr games....

Nope. This is all you need to know about Dexter McCluster.

I don't see us shutting down McCluster AND Snead. I do expect CMK will have us in the best possible position to slow these great athletes. I only hope we have enough offense to keep our D rested enough to keep hard after those 2, and not to the total exclusion of their other options either. The General's points of no turnovers, 60 minutes, etc., plus limiting penalties, and Giving Our All for Tennessee will all come into play. This will be a tough, close hard-fought battle for our Vols. We can win, no doubt, if we play at our highest level. Nutt will have them very ready, I can assure you. I look forward to a great game. Go VOLS!!!!!!

Don't forget about Rogan he is a very good corner, has played safety, and makes tackles. Eric berry, I think can be used more efficiently than just spying one guy, Monte will probably move him around and try to confuse the QB. Jackson can play deep coverage to prevent those huge gashes. Monte is the man and I'm sure he will have a game plan! Doesn't matter to me as long as we win!
Go Vols!

Monte has answered every challenge thus far. Don't think Nutt's wild offense is something he hasn't seen. EB will line up at Safety and LB while keeping an eye on Mcluster. The defensive looks we'll show will be confusing to the Rebels.

If all that happened, we win by 6 or 7 TDs. I think they'll do great but the bottom line is; we need 1 or more points than Ole Miss. GBO!!!

I would advise Ole Mess that Hardesty and Brown line up at TB and run - North and South.

I was just doing some searching on how Monte Kiffin prepared for going against Drew Brees and Reggie Bush when Tampa Bay played the Saints. It seems to show that the greater danger was not Reggie Bush running, but rather Reggie Bush catching passes. Bush did not consistently have success, but what success he did have was mostly through the air. Jevan Snead is no Drew Brees, and Dexter McCluster is no Reggie Bush, but that atleast gives an idea of how gameplans work against a tandem of a deep threat qb and a hybrid wr/rb
ColeTrickle writes:
the good thing is Lathers is a very very fast mike LB and will be able to run with him. his speed is amazing for a LB. he is built like a RB. I am not worried. Monte has done very well with not giving up the big play and McCluster is a big play threat not a grinder.

Ole Miss DE Greg Hardy (sack leader) broke his wrist and is out for the season.

a little off topic, but Rivals is reporting that Chaney and Gran may be candidates for the West. Ky. head coach job.

Seems unlikely now.
