The Tennessee-Ole Miss and Auburn-Georgia games Saturday could start to establish a pecking order of teams from which the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl will pick.
Those four teams, plus South Carolina, Arkansas and Kentucky are SEC teams with the best shot at coming to Nashville on Dec. 27 to play an ACC team.
The North Carolina-Boston College game on Nov. 21 could go a long way toward deciding the ACC representative.
Tennessee (5-4, 2-3 in SEC) could land in the Music City if it loses two of its last three games. The Vols finish the regular season with Vandy and Kentucky.

Even though the music city bowl is in the state of Tennessee I do not think that is the bowl game that we are looking to attend. I think that LSU will most likely get the Capital One Bowl which will go the the third best SEC team because Bama and Florida getting two BCS bids. Then it comes down the the Outback and Cotton bowl as potential landing spots for the team. I just really hope we do not go to the Chick-Fila Peach Bowl because we have not faired to well there over recent years. Let's just win out and see where they send this emerging team
rocky_topper writes:
I hope it is outback. The cotton is just too far of a venue for the vol fans to travel IMO!
CrankE writes:
Uh, with a weak finish, Tennessee could be staying at home. We unfortunately know a thing or two about that. TCB on Ole Miss first!
Docrok writes:
If the Vols win out I believe it will be an Outback Bowl! First things first though lets take care of Ole Miss!
mbible1utk#324980 writes:
I wouldn't completely write us out of the Capitol One Bowl just yet... LSU could still lose a game to either Ole Miss or Arkansas. If that happened, we might make a more attractive option. But if everything works out the way it looks like it will, I would say we are looking at...
Florida/Alabama winner- National Title Game
Florida Alabama loser- Sugar Bowl
LSU- Capitol One Bowl
Tennessee- Outback Bowl
Auburn- Cotton Bowl
South Carolina- Chick Fil A Bowl
Arkansas- Music City Bowl
Ole Miss- Independence Bowl
Georgia- Liberty Bowl
Kentucky- Papajohns.com Bowl

Crompton must out QB Snead.
The D must bring the wood against a very suspect Ole Mess O line.
Period.
Then we can dream of a bowl.

A) Blob
B) Jimmy Whaaa!-ams
C) Griff the Stiff
D) All Are Terrible
Perhaps all three will consider following their hero CFP to Memphis High or Papa John's U.

Right on the money. If Crompton plays another great game and we kick their tail we will be looking pretty good. GO VOLS!
givehim6 writes:
Uh, I think the reason UT finished was we we mostly playing back-ups, and UM left there first string in hoping to pull an upset. By any rate if Kiffin was w thought we might be in trouble he would put some key players back in. To me the Outback, or Cotton would be great

Hate to say it but the main purpose of a bowl game is to generate revenue for the College not to determine a champion. The one good thing is if the Vols can get good bowl games then maybe the price of tickets for students and/or season ticket holders will not rise.
Go Vols Beat Ole Miss!
chad_t31 writes:
Hey daBoy, you play basically the same schedule as we do, in conference. And your out of conference schedule?? Charleston southern? Troy? Florida international? Really? Quit being pizzed that you beat us by 10 on YOUR home field when YOU said it would be a rout. Grow up and enjoy your run, what little of it is left.

We haven't faired too well in that bowl because we haven't played too well. The name of the bowl has nothing to do with how badly nor how goodly(ha) a team playes.Sorry folks, but our failures in the chick bowl was the results of poor coaching and nothing else.Heck folks,I would be happy to go to the toilet bowl this year.Where ever we land ,it will be much better than the bowl we were in last year.OOPS,scratch that.We weren't in a bowl last year.

South Carolina will not go to the Chick filet bowl @ 6-6. They still have the Gators and Clemson to play. Both likley losses. They are calling for the ole ball coaches scalp over here after another weak November finish. The Gamecocks to Music City. Go Vols!

Been to the Peach Bowl during the Floundering years in the last decade, but I am ready to go back under much different circumstances. Right now with the way we are playing, I would say any team in the country wouldn't mind to play us in a good bowl. Nashville sounds fun, but I believe we are a little better than that. Atlanta looks like the better possibility if we win out. More money too there to pay the coaches.

Ummmm...I think there is an article about the Veteran's Day Parade on knoxnews, isn't there?? I am pretty sure there was.
People just like to chat about anything an any given day and no disrepect is meant towards Veteran's Day...I have an American Flag flying high on my porch right now in honor of the Veteran's Day so I'm recognizing it....My dad is a veteran himself and that is reason for me to recognize it and for the other vets of course.
I'm not trying to be smart or anything;I'm just trying to help.
ProwlinAndGrowlinSmokeyDog writes:
I'm surprised it took you this long to leave a post about this article...AS USUAL, SOOO NEGATIVE AND A DOWNER!!!
As for the coaches, them getting fired is attributed to us in a sense and that makes our beatdowns of these teams look that much better...Not to mention OUR coaching staff...that makes them look that much better for having the capability of beating these teams the way they should be beaten...THAT HASN'T BEEN THE CASE FOR SEVERAL YEARS UP UNTIL THIS YEAR AND I LOVE THE CHANGE!!
ProwlinAndGrowlinSmokeyDog writes:
AGAIN ANOTHER LOAD OF phooey!! You waste so much of your time posting phooey...DON'T YOU KNOW BY NOW THAT NO ONE ON THIS SITE CARES WHAT YOU THINK!!! EVEN THOUGH WE DO RESPOND TO YOU...We just like telling you that never have any clue what your talking about.
People like you just make me appreciate the intelligent and cool people that leave very informative posts.

You and several other posters on here are wrong to think DaMan is a Florida interloper/fan/troll. He is an incredibly embittered former Fulmer supporter--whom he never fails to praise to the skies--who hates CLK--or possibly Hamilton or possibly both--for reasons only he understands. If he ever mentions Florida favorably or agrees with a Florida loper/troll, it is only to slam CLK.
His posts on basketball threads are consistently positive regarding Pearl and UT basketball. That is NOT, IMHO, the action of a true Gator fan. Of course, he will never come right out and say just WHY he hates CLK, but it ISN'T because he loves Florida. Just do as I do and don't address him directly until he comes clean about all this. Or you could just ignore him, which works just as well. Or you could just laugh at his ludicrous predictions, exactly none of which have been close to right all season.

As a veteran, I think you are a sanctimonious twit. This is a forum geared toward University of Tennessee sports. Today I have read and watched many media articles/stories relating the contributions millions of American veterans have made for our great country. I also enjoy reading sports stories. As a veteran who has spent 11 Veterans' Days in the Armed Forces outside the United States, I am thankful for the freedom I have to read sports freely in a public forum. Get off your high horse. God Bless our veterans and God Bless America. Go Vols, beat Ole Miss.

Flo, you have watched the Vols and Gators play 24 times with the Gators winning 24 and the Vols winning 6? Good math, Flo. Look, you know TN is improving, you know Lane can coach, you know this is an 8-4 team...and your lucky it will be too so you can have 2 quality wins on your resume...You need to get a life though. If all you have to do all day is look up stats and try and harass people you need to look hard at what happened in your life. Did Daddy not love you enough? Did your prom date leave you hanging? Did your husband cheat on you? Did you find out you were barren? Lets role up our sleeves in delve into your psyche....cause there is something seriously wrong with you.
