UT pregame: Live from Oxford with starting lineup

OXFORD, Miss. – Getting an early start from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium …

Tennessee just completed its pregame warmups and has returned to the locker room.

Prentiss Waggner, as expected, gets his second consecutive start at free safety in place of Janzen Jackson.

Herman Lathers will start at middle linebacker.

Cory Sullins will open at left guard with the offensive line.

This will be Tennessee’s first game of the season on artificial turf.

It appears orange will be well represented in the stands today on a gorgeous early afternoon for football.

It's time to create a new news story in Knoxville.
It's time to show the conference that UT is back.
It's Football time in Tennessee.
Keeping it Real
Go Vols!!!

daniellovesutfootball writes:

GO VOLS!!!! I'm thinkin Berry will get that record today although I wish he could do it at a home game. Dan Williams should have a huge game again and anxious to see Waggner pick up from last week. Hope Herman has another huge game!!! Crompton, should have a huge game as well!!

GO VOLS!! BEAT THE REBS!

gavol writes:

Lazy, poor defense. Ole Miss is not going to give them the game. They have to play. That was awful.

BigOrangeGhostHunter writes:

Time to put the distractions behind us and win out the rest of the year. I don't want to be in the mix for the Music City Bowl. Cotton or Outback is where this team belongs. Forget the morons and go win!

69vol08 writes:

After the first two series...I am concerned...we do not looked focused and UM does...will be in for a long day if we don't right the ship soon!

RJ_Vol writes:

Lack of discipline over the past three weeks by coaches. Lack of discipline by players. One of the worst weeks in program history is looking like it's about to get a lot worse. Kiffin looks lost.

69vol08 writes:

defense looks lost...I hope they settle down!

msvolsfan writes:

Wow, 3rd and 15 and no one is remotely near McCluster, Ole Miss' best player??? Not looking good folks. I was worried about this team not being focused, looks like that was validated. They look completely lethargic and uninterested. And the offensive play calling on the first series was atrocious. Three pass plays when you have one of the best backs in the conference? Puzzling to say the least. Our kicker recruit for next year can't get here soon enough. Our kicking game is nothing short of embarrassing.

69vol08 writes:

well...a sack...let's build on that!

msvolsfan writes:

Maybe that sack will get us going. We need to get Hardesty in a groove and grind down this game. I'm not confident that we'll keep them out of the end zone enough to get into a shoot out. Offensive line just caved in. Come on guys!

nashvol34 writes:

Special Teams are terrible.Gen. Neyland is turning over in his grave every time we kick the ball!!!

msvolsfan writes:

3rd and 2 and we drop back to pass? Are our coaches huffing gas fumes today?

69vol08 writes:

What happened to our offense??? They look lost...NOT fired up like they have been...look like they are going through the motions...come on guys!!....there is a lot riding on this game!!!

msvolsfan writes:

Great field position. We need to score here.

nashvol34 writes:

Great run , Hardesty! Now if our O line will stiffen up. TD CROMPTON!!!!!

msvolsfan writes:

Great pass JC! Touchdown!

Razzle writes:

LOL you guys are funny. Still 1st quarter. You gonna have any finger nails left by the 4th?

69vol08 writes:

okay...I fell better now...so let's settle down and take it to them!!!!

nashvol34 writes:

I catch myself holding my breath every time we kick the ball, even on PAT's. We have got to get a kicker, is there anyone from the women's soccer team willing to come over to the FB program?

69vol08 writes:

...being out of position and poor tackling is making 22 look better than his is...someone crack him! Berry, get him!!!

69vol08 writes:

I am sorry, but that is horrible! Coach Kiff needs to wake up his D! How embarrassing!

cobbwebb writes:

is that dexter mccluster or darren mcfadden? damn, somebody put a hat on this knucklehead!!!

What you said...especially, after that that 2nd TD run!!!

volpreacher writes:

do they not callanything now. 77 held on that touchdown run

gavol writes:

Defense is disoriented, unfocused, and playing poorly. Monte needs to wake them up. This is bend and break. Quit giving them so much room for catches.

nashvol34 writes:

Monte needs to make some adjustments and quickly. Our D looks totally confused and outmatched. I know we're better than this. They look totally flat-footed, and you can't tell me that Jackson is the reason we're getting blown off the ball and not accounting for mccluster.

our d is making him look like herschel freakin walker!!!!

Madkels writes:

LaMarcus Thompson was held on that second TD.

nashvol34 writes:

Ole miss D looks like our D, except we're playing like Vandy.

CRFVols writes:

Poor play calling and who's defense is this??

msvolsfan writes:

Defense looks lost again. We've got to find a way to limit McCluster. There he goes again. Come on Monte, this is where you make your money.

the defense looks like it did in the auburn game!

volpreacher writes:

If we can have a long drive it will give Monte enough time to get the defense adjusted and hold Ole Miss to a field goal the rest of the game.

nashvol34 writes:

Kiff needs to get the team huddled up on the sideline, like they do aty the start of the 4th qtr, and get these guys FIRED UP!!

69vol08 writes:

Why is Hardesty getting stopped for a loss?! This has not happened all year...against far better teams! This has a chance to become a blow out embarrassment! Must change soon! UM momentum will build!

RJ_Vol writes:

Lack of discipline has been a growing problem. It is showing right now. Having a third string MLB in the game is not helping things. J. Majors football is in the house.

SandySpringsVol writes:

Holding "no call" on 77 on Ole Miss' last TD. Never even questioned by CBS announcers, who are evidently all about the Rebels.

nashvol34 writes:

The coaches kept saying that the arrests weren't going to keep us from being distracted, well if that's the case, I'm really worried about this team. They look just like they did against the barn, UM must have taken auburns game plan and implemented it exactly.

thats great, i like it! break him!!!!!

nashvol34 writes:

Sorry , meant to say we wouldn't be distracted. The D is looking totally distracted. Better be some a55 chewing at the half.

msvolsfan writes:

TD Crompton! Offense came to play, time for the defense to step up.

nashvol34 writes:

Brown finally going nort to south, they must be working with him on that aspect of his game. JC TD, he really has become reliable, I never thought he would be consistent. My apologies again for doubting the KIFF on his standing behind Crompton.

Razzle writes:

Crompton is playing great right now.

SignalMtnVol writes:

I don't know what this staff has done to Crompton, but that guy is throwing a beautiful ball. I'll admit, I was a huge Crompton doubter, but this kid is making me eat my words.

nashvol34 writes:

Come on DEFENSE, time to help out the offense. Total role reversals from earlier in the season.

UTByrd writes:

The way most of you are talking, maybe we should fire the whole coaching staff...especially Monte Kiffen.

msvolsfan writes:

We have no answer for McCluster. They will give him the ball 25 times today at this rate. And at this rate, he'll have 300 yards for the game.

nashvol34 writes:

I can't remember a RB running all over us, like mccluster is, all season. Time to de-cleat him. Lay some wood to the dreadlocked one.
