KNOXVILLE -- Every University of Tennessee football player has been given an extra day off this week.
The three Volunteers arrested last week in connection with an attempted armed robbery could be away from the game much longer.
First-year UT coach Lane Kiffin said Sunday that wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson and defensive backs Janzen Jackson and Mike Edwards won't practice or play with the team until more information from last week in uncovered. Kiffin didn't use the word "suspension," though. He didn't use any title to describe his decision.

This loss sucks. Not just the players but the game. The fact remains is somebody wins, somebody loses. We were just on the wrong end today. Happens. The team is fine, and this was just one of those day's and mama told me they'd be days like this..... The best team in the land is Texas........Christian that is. I said it they are the most complete team in college football and they will prove it when they absolutely demolish either bama or florida, whichever one loses the SEC champ game. GBO

We get competely smoked by Ole Miss, and three of our players are arrested as thugs.
This is what we get for the highest paid coaching staff in the SEC?!?!?!?

In response to "leprechaun", I am sure the "elephannies" said the same thing about their $4 mil coach after their loss to Louisiana Monroe. We need these two days for LK to go recruit (win back) Stone and friends.

Lighten up; these guys usually practice on sundays;which is not the norm;Iam sure he has his reasons for a day off;You don't punish players who got beat by clearly better players..Bottom line is Kiffin is the youngest coach in Division 1 and with or without his bad decisions; he has the whole football predicting big success for our program

I'm glad the staff is worried about dead legs. IMO that is what got us beat at OM. This D has not looked that slow all year. I know OM has some speed but they don't have what FU,bama or dawgs for that matter have. Not saying that we would have beat OM Sat with fresh legs but it would have been much closer IMO.

With our lack of depth and the competitive practices that CLK has been having since his arrival, I wondered how long it would take before we would see the adverse effects of this type of training. It just so happens that Vols didn't have fresh legs for a game when they needed them the most. When depth gets as thin as it is now, players don't even get to rest in practice for a few snaps much less get a rest in the games. There is a time to tear the guys down physically to make them stronger emotionally and physically. But IMO you don't tear them down after a loss like this when it was obvious from the first OM drive that Vols were a team with "dead legs" I just pray there is no more idiotic behavior with the extra days off. These Vols have played their guts out to achieve what they have already this season and I for one have been proud of the effort. If you didn't like the loss to OM, just wear the guys out like you suggest and you will like the results of the last 2 games even less. The competitive practices are a big improvement over the previous staff, IMO but with our depth issues its just difficult to know how much conditioning is too much. We found out the hard way vs OM. Good move on CLKs part so long as no off-field incidents occur.

KNS ... How come you don't have a story on the front page concerning #8 Lady Vols beating #7 Baylor ??? Has Kiffin and Pearl overshadowed Pat? Come on ... give Pat the spotlight she deserves. If they had beaten an unranked team, I would understand ... but they beat a higher ranked team here in Knoxville. Stand up and shout it out !!

we didnt get smoked by ole miss...we got smoked by mccluster. thats it...without him the game would've been different story. dont blame the coaches either, the defense had more missed tackles in the history of football.

Your Profile name does no justice for the comment you posted about TCU. Are you on drugs? TCU would get beat by three touchdowns or more by Florida or Alabama.

AND..
if we had a safety like JJ and a linebacker who can tackle (not thrid string), this would have been another game all together.

"Growing pains" You have to go through some tuff times to get where we are going! It can't all be easy.

You sir are the moron 3 touchdowns, and we played both of them very close and TCU would demolish us today if we played them and you are saying they would get beat by 3 touchdowns? Wake up dopey the world of college football isn't contained to 5 or 6 teams anymore. With TV and internet everybody recruits great players. Just so happens TCU is in a HOTBED of talent, and are beating out Texas for a lot of those players. I would bet any amout of money on that line you gave today but unfortunately there is no playoff in college football so we will never know..
