UT's Shane Reveiz remains ready

KNOXVILLE -- Shane Reveiz could be put in a tough spot if Tennessee All-Southeastern weakside linebacker Rico McCoy's knee forces him out of Saturday's game against Vanderbilt.

Reveiz has conquered much tougher tasks, though.

Less than two years ago, the walk-on legacy from Knoxville was told he'd never play football again, and that his life was in danger.

An annual echocardiogram given to all UT student-athletes uncovered a marble-sized growth on Reveiz's heart.

geez - we need to recruit some backers and o-linemen!

I may be mistaken, but did Shane get a tan?

Overitok writes:

Typical journalism that covers UT . . . don't know one player from another! Guess that was Lane Kiffin's fault too, right?

All I can say is...

Shane,you're ALL VOL.

He's not referring to his heritage, he's referring to the fact that there are 2 #45's on the team. One of which is fullback Kevin Cooper. KNS put up a picture of Cooper during the UGA game and labeled it as Shane Reveiz.

Time to go to triple numerals.

Did Verne Lundquist put the picture and caption up? He seems to not be able to get names and numbers right either.

Lundquist is by no means worse than Kessling...

for the love, that is Kevin Cooper. great work guys

What is Shane (LB) doing on offense? lol

You better believe that a 5th yr Sr qb for Vandy is going to come at a damaged LB corps.. DL has hot to stuff the run, (and Vandys Freshmen rbs are quick) and attack the QB every play all game. Tennessees' Offense is going to have to score points and get out in front of VU.

I like Rucker but I'm disappointed with their quality control - missed id with the photo and then the article is about a lb, not a rb. Geez....must have come from the john adams school of journalism

We have removed the photo that misidentified Shane Reveiz.

Very True..we might not be able to rely on the defense to keep the game close anymore..Vandy is 7th in the nation in pass defense but not great against the run;as proven by Ga Tech.. This being senior day for Hardesty he may run wild for 200 yards which will seal the deal;I think Crompton will come to play also

I'm glad Shane Reveiz and his brother are players at UT. They add alot. Both will be back next year and will be better players for their experiences this year.

IMHO, those two are neck-and-neck in the race to the bottom among all football announcers! At least Lundquist is old.... For me, the best thing about having all the Vols' games on TV is not having to listen to Kesling. I can sorta tolerate him doing basketball, but if he can't do any better at football after nearly 10 years on the job, he's never going to get any better.

I can't believe some of you think Wes Rucker had anything to do with a picture posted on the KNS site. KNS people even apologized in this comments section for their mistake!

I've known Wes since we lived in the same dorm and played intramural football as freshmen at UT (yeah, that's right, he went to UT) so I'm a little biased here. It's crazy to blame him for that picture. Do you see a picture of Cooper on the link to the TFP? No, you don't.

Getting Wes' stories on here was a great addition to this site. Like I said, he's my friend, so I had to come on here and defend him! Do some of you even think before you post???

I'm not bashing the guys at KNS, either. I went to school with Jesse Smithey and Drew Edwards (who used to work for them), and they're both great guys.

We all make mistakes. Well, everyone but Eric Berry does.

Vandy beating UT is a once in a lifetime deal. Kind of like meeting a humble Gator fan. We'll be fine at home for senior day. Go Wolfman. Go Vols!

True. When Eric Berry wants an egg, he breaks open a chicken. Go Vols! Beat Candy!!

Thanks John for taking up for your guys. But, hey you're the editor. So, give us a break and don't bash us for pointing out the HUGE mistakes that are obvious, Captain.

Hahaha! I get on here to defend my friend who works for the Chattanooga paper, and you're calling me John Adams?
