Tennessee might have found itself a new kicker.
At least the Vols have one who hasn't had an attempt blocked yet.
In a bit of a surprise, walk-on Devin Mathis replaced Daniel Lincoln to try an extra point after Montario Hardesty's touchdown on the opening drive, and he banged in a 25-yarder on the next to help UT open a 10-3 lead after the first quarter on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.
Hardesty has already rushed for 73 yards on 11 carries and surpassed the 1,000-yard mark midway through the frame.

we are to beat up and have too many defensive losses via injury and dismissals.
We need this season to end and GO RECRUIT.
This is not pretty to watch after watching other teams play much better all day...longest scoring drie by Vandy all year??? bummer....

It appears last week was not a fluke defensively. We are weak at linebacker and safeties from the injuries/suspensions. It is killing us in the short game as far as short passes and tackling. Grandpa Monte is going to have to come up with a scheme to mask it. And the offense has to score everytime to put the pressure on Vandy and not on our defense.
It is unwise to allow the Commodores to stay in the game. Beating us would save their season.
Pray for a blistering Lou Holtz style speech at half-time. We need to raise our intensity level (except for Hardesty - he is ready).
There is still time to blow them out. Get it together!

I have been a Tennessee Fan for better than 50 years. I have been an alumni for 41 years. I've never seen a defensive team at Tennessee playing with less pride and insulting that orange jersey more than the kids on that hallowed ground tonight. Those players are lucky, if I were the Coach I'd pull them off the field and forfeit the game before I would allow them to smear the memories of the players who have wore that orange jersey before them. They have no Pride and have no right to wear that orange shirt whatsoever. They are letting a team that lost to Army and only scored 10 points against Army push them all over the field. They are making me sick to my stomach.

Hang in there Owensboro. I feel you. But, let's see if our playmakers - and we have a few - can make something happen. We are wounded and the fill-ins are not moving until someone catches the ball.
I just have to believe the players and coaches will not allow this to go the wrong way.
But, I am almost as hot as you are. That failure to stop them on 3rd was awful.

Did Berry take part in Senior night or not? These Bozos on the coverage are terrible.

Berry made a bonehead, thug play. He hit a Vandy player well after the play, in front of an official.

Sorry I let my anger get the better of me. I have lived and died Tennessee Football for too long. As I told my son (I'm ashamed to admit that he is a Alabama Graduate) I'm Big Orange bred, Big Orange born, and when I die I'll be Big Orange Dead. I was born in Knoxville at Fort Sanders Hospital (As close as you can get to the campus). My Mom dated Johnny Butler when they both attended old Knoxville High School. I would go on but I would just be bragging about the Orange Blood I have in my veins. I love them so much and it hurts to see them play like this!
