KNOXVILLE -- Tennessee's football players have minimized this week their program's NCAA-best 24-game winning streak against Kentucky.
Past games have no bearing on tonight's Southeastern Conference meeting in Lexington, the Volunteers and their coaches have said.
"The history of this series means nothing to this game," first-year head coach Lane Kiffin said. "I'm sorry. It doesn't."
Kentucky has enjoyed similar success to UT the past four years and won more bowl games, many have mentioned. The Wildcats have as many upperclassmen NFL draft prospects, others have added.

I think it will be a close game. Don't count KY out. If Ky doesn't fall apart Tennessee will have it's hands full.
Tennessee needs to repeat the tough defense it showed in Florida and bring the O.

You're probably the most level-headed Cat I've ever come in contact with. :) Thanks for lowering yourself to the standards of jbrantleez, dthenc, and kman29.

That's not nice! CSF is nothing like those other three, he has a lot more class.
I agree Brooks is a he11 of a coach & brought KY back to respectabilty.
The Vols need this game more than the Cats just to catch up with them. Never thought I would say that, but look at the record the last few years.
We may be really glad we have our walk on kicker for this game.
GO VOLS!!!

And this is a guy many Cat fans wanted way under the bus a few years back.
Don't think much of your "coach in waiting" plan but I like what Brooks has done at UK. It may be a roundball Mecca but it's a tough gig in football.

as Eric Taylor on "Friday Night Lights" says berfore every game--"Clear Eyes, Full Hearts Guys!" If the Vols will play every down with the heart they have showed all year--the streak will continue, also Kentucky all week has heard how they will win--don't get to over confident - lets take it home guys!!!--go VOLS!
