There was a great deal of vitriol on the Georgia chatboards, including some unbelievable whining from one writer, who wasn't impressed by Tennessee's performance, choosing instead to focus on the Bulldogs' inadequacies, perceived or actual.

Obviously, the events of Saturday turned him distraught, perhaps to the extent of pitching himself out a third-story window somewhere in Georgia.

Georgia fans..I feel your pain...we've felt it a lot around here in "Big Orange Country"....

The puppies are whining about Kiffins' comments ranging from a promise to never lose to UGA to never having been involved in a game where a team was not allowed to reach the red zone! They should be more worried about being beat by a better prepared team that doesn't get caught up reading it's own press clippings!

Whoever wrote this article is a complete joke of a sports writer. This is an insult and it reflects upon the Georgia Bulldog nation as a whole. For those of you who watched the game it was a prime time, take you behind the shed @$$ whoopin in all ways except the special teams. Now, for the one's who thinks Georgia played awful, I ask you to go and listen to your Defensive Cord's comments after the game. That sums it up in all directions. His Quote was...WE GO OUT COACHED, OUT PLAYED, AND MY HAT GOES OFF TO KIFFIN AND HIS STAFF FOR THEIR GAMEPLAN BECAUSE WE COULD NOT SLOW THEM DOWN.

That's a GA. Bull Dawg fan for you. They never get beat, they just beat their self(lived, worked with those Dawg fans 4 twenty-five yrs....That a boy Crompton, some how u could just see that a comeing.....VOL ORANGE thru & thru.........

Sounds like the writer is a little butthurt after the game. I wouldn't blame him. I've said some things I didn't mean about an opposing team after losing. It happens.

Someone must have gotten the red licked off their candy or either the toy surprise stolen out of their box of Cracker Jacks. But the game that I saw had a VOL team that was coached and prepared very well....And a team that took another one to the wood shed. Like someone else said....We feel your pain because for several years we have felt the same way when we were taken to the wood shed. Our team is getting better by the week....And the train is building up steam. Anyone that cannot see the improvement on the field this year is blind. Go VOLS!!

hueypilot writes:

Well he'll have to go to Atlanta to find a building with three stories.

StroVol writes:

Wow. I guess the whole league expects us to lay down like last year and take our lumps. This will only make practice that much more competive and fun. Everybody on that squad wants on the field now. Janzen Jackson looks like a 4year starter. Crompton? I don't know what to say. Way to go, the whole state and Crompton family needed that performance. We have not, and will not get blown out by anybody this year. You better have a plan for Tennessee. Saturday night felt way to good to go backwards now!!!!!! Time to watch that 30yard ROPE! to DMoore one more time. Da.. what a strike.

Had a field day reading the tons of comments on AJC.com articles and esp Schultz. Dawgs are barking.

The UGA nation needs to realize that they are a program on the decline. Time to let Willie go, and if Mark won't fire him, he might be gone too.. Bobo won't be too far behind either....Hope Marlon Brown enjoyed the beatdown, he'll get 3 more chances to regret not signing with us..

These Bulldog fans are class-less.

I made the mistake of letting a Ga fan ride up to Knoxville with me for the game. I couldn't believe the way he acted...a friend of mine. It's like he became somebody else. This guy didn't even speak to me the whole 2nd half. Then kept taking shots at the fans, the song Rocky Top, the stadium not living up to Sanford quality, the announcer, the orange color.....even picking a fight with an elderly Vol fan sitting below us! Here's the thing: he wasn't alone.

After the game they would spot each other and say things like "Martinez has got to go" and "they need to fire Richt" and "Cox needs to be benched". After the game, my "buddy" said he would never return to Neyland for a game... and was serious. I was relieved!

The last thing he said was:

"Well, I'll say this: the Vol fans were pretty classy, impressive".

VolinSuwanee writes:

Living in Suwanee GA I would like to say THANKS to the Vols. I am sure the Dawgs will whine about the men in stripes etc... and never admit they got their .... handed to them. I enjoyed the game in Knoxville 2 years ago and this week is quite fun to fly the colors of UT in Georgia.

DragonSlayer123 writes:

Just in case you guys havent seen it yet, ESPN writers are now projecting Tennessee to play in the Liberty Bowl (against Houston) or the Independence Bowl (against Missouri).

After our victory against the Bulldogs, we are now being projected to be in a pretty decent bowl game this year. Looks like we have already earned respect, and if we keep this up, it will only increase to maybe an even better bowl game. But I would be pretty satisfied with either of these projections coming true for this season.

Go Big Orange!

If that happened to me he would have been riding his thumb back home.

I live in Atlanta and went to the AJC board this morning just to see what was being said. It was a mirror image of these boards the past few years.
Assistance coaches being verbally assaulted by the fans, fans claiming all the negative talks by fans will cost them recruits, debate about CMR and if he is capable of making the tough decisions concerning the staff, complaints about no titles, losing to UF all the time, a loss to in state rival, would the AD who didn’t hire MR have any loyalty to him, will the AD force changes in the staff and even some suggestion of hiring Gurden as their next head coach.
Things are beginning to crumble in Athens and CMR. If he slips up in the next few months with the critical decisions he will have to make it could be the end for him at GA.
Keeping it Real
Go Vols!!!

whenever i feel any twinge of sympathy for the dawgs, i recall the 81 game. they had herschel walker and were the defending nat. champs. they also had the vols down by a 37-0 count between the hedges. they had the ball inside the vol ten and about thirty seconds on the clock when their q.b. called a time out and went over to confer with dooley. the t.v. announcer commented that coach dooley would probably chew him out for not running the clock out. that was what i thought (as did the vol defenders and any other fan/athlete with a lick of sportmanship). instead, he returns, fakes a handoff, and tosses an easy t.d. pass to an uncovered receiver. i was shocked. it was a needless, graceless, rub your opponents nose in it act. like i said, every time i feel for the dawgs, i recall that game. SUCK ON IT DAWGS!

What a bunch of cry babies! I'm not ready to say we have arrived, but they didn't beat themselves. The Vols went out there and out-coached, out-hit, and just out-played UGA. The Vols showed up hungry and pi$$d and handed the bulldogs their arse.

I live in Austin and Texas fans are the same way. I wasn't at work 30 minutes this morning and they were bi!#$n at me about Bama taking the #2 spot when most of the "Texas fans" I've met can't tell you the name of anyone on the team other than Colt McCoy. When I said they MIGHT win 8 games in the SEC they told me I was crazy and they would "dominate" the SEC.

I hate the Gators and the Tide but I can't wait for whoever wins the SEC to wax the Big 12 champ in the national champioship.

I will give it to Georgia though, none of the fans here at work talked a lot of smack before the game, and they aren't crying about it right now like floriduh did after winning a game (and the Tennessee game)

Did everyone hear about the new shock collars that came out this past weekend? They are made by Berry & Co. Apparently when you put one on a bulldog, they won't cross the 35 yard line.

The so-called sports writer's comments say it all about UGA fans. Poor-sportsmanship, winning or loosing. I was at a Falcons game last month and when the Ga Tech band came on during half time an Atlanta fan, who was also a dawg fan started booing the band. I asked him if he would boo the cheerleaders too. He commented we will just see when UGA beats the Vols this year. I guess he will have to become a Gator fan now. Just goes to show Florida and Georgia fans do not deserve a good team. So remember Vol fans Karma is always around the corner. Win and loose with class, it is what seperates us from them. Go Big Orange

I see what you are saying from the Floriduh fans all of the time, but the GA fans have been quiet here in FL. They took the whooping and accepted it. Speaking about Karma though, everyone knows Florida is inching closer everyday to a large heaping spoonful of it. I'd even say it will be remembered as the dark ages of Floriduh football. But I doubt they will get back to their ways of win-less seasons of days gone by, but one can hope right?

amen, arky.

i watched that game on tv and remember our defense had a score that was called back.

i also remember the, was it 2001 game where the entire UGlAy team assembled in the center of the field and stomped on the "T?" i remember the act but loss track of the year.

nope, i don't feel sorry for these bums and i never pull for them in bowl games. you can say they've reached the flar-duh "no class" status in my book.

I can't say anything positive about UGA fans either, but I did show up at their '98 Peach Bowl wearing a UT shirt. All I heard the entire evening were FSU chants and plenty of cursing. The only two UGA fans who were the least bit nice had probably just polished off their second bottle of Jack. One even handed me an oversized dog bone. What the #$@* am I supposed to do with that and why would you take it to a football game?

actually it wasn't too bad on the way home.... the only dog left barking on Rocky Top was Smoky!! This one had his tail between his legs...just trying to show more class. Not hard to do.
