TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The SEC has named Alabama running back Mark Ingram, Kentucky linebacker Micah Johnson and Florida kicker Caleb Sturgis players of the week.
Ingram rushed for 246 yards in a win over South Carolina, the highest total at Bryant-Denny Stadium and second-most in the FBS this season.
Johnson had 14 tackles in Kentucky’s win over Auburn. The Wildcats allowed only 315 yards and one offensive touchdown.
Sturgis hit a game-winning 27-yard field goal in Florida’s 23-20 win over Arkansas and a 51-yarder in the third quarter.
Mississippi center Daverin Geralds was the offensive lineman of the week, while Georgia tackle Geno Atkins claimed defensive line honors.

Mr Ingram deserved it.
He's a beast.
Winning or loosing this weekand will depend on our ability to stop bama's running game.

After watching the AL/USC game my biggest concern (other than special teams of course) is stopping Ingram. He is amazing! At first I was like there is no way we can keep him in check, and then I remembered a 2007 game against Arkansas. The week before Arkansas came to Knoxville McFadden rushed for 321 yards against South Carolina which tied the SEC single game rushing record. Our defense held McFadden to 117 yards (22 carries). He only had 25 yards in the first half. After the game Mayo was quoted, “He’s a great back, but he’s not going to win the Heisman Trophy in Neyland Stadium.”
Can this years defense under Monte hold Ingram to 100-125 yds? It won't be easy but is possible. And is our only chance to pull an upset and win the game.

I think you have already sent this post. Monte's had two weeks to get them ready. He and the defense will be ready but Alabama probably has to much depth for us to finish. We can thank the fat man for that. Go Big Orange, play hard and hopefully we get a few breaks and pull out a close one.

Ingram is a helluva RB. IMO Hardesty and Nix are just as good but bamas O line gives him the edge over the others. UTs O line has been the biggest surprise to this years Vols and they will have a chance to prove how good they are against bamas D-line. If Vols can open some holes in bamas D this will be a great game. If not it could get ugly. I can't wait to see what Monte has come up with to defend bama. I don't see bamas QB having a big game passing against our D given that Monte has had 2 weeks to plan. Go Vols! Shock the nation 10/24!!!

Trident, our defense is better than s. carolina's, and so is our offense. Not by much, but, the Vols are alot better than you will ever acknowledge. Can you name the last decade aladama wasn't on some type of probation. I will have to agree that it will be tough for the Vols to beat dama in dama. The refs will be partial for the home team, no doubt, cause dama always finds a way to cheat. GO VOLS!!!

Get over it. It's a tired and ridiculous comment. Again I will say, look at the burglaries in dorms by players, grades changed for players, Cumberland Drive episodes by players, DUIs, domestic violence, etc., by your players before casting stones. Some of this, unfortunately goes on everywhere, but this program is as clean as yours, so get off the soapbox.

The question was, When was the last decade aladama was not on some kind of probation? I believe aladama is way ahead in most decades on probation. Come back with facts that prove it wrong, we'll be waiting, a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time. Yea, aladama is tradition rich, but, has a real bad reputation getting there. The Vol fans cast stones because aladama gives every program that chance. Just go one decade without going on probation, then your program would not have to hear it from all other programs. Wash, Wipe, Wash is what rolltiderollers should do! If you don't want to get slapped around by Vol posters, stay of their site. Go to cheatersareus.com and talk to other aladama fans. GO VOLS!!!
