Game time for South Carolina at 7:45 p.m.

Get that trick-or-treating done early.

The moon and the television spotlight will both be on Tennessee next weekend.

After blitzing Georgia before the bye week to help repair their reputation, the Vols will follow up Saturday's nationally televised trip to No. 1 Alabama with a primetime date at home against No. 23 South Carolina on Halloween on ESPN at 7:45 p.m.

The Gamecocks held their own against the Crimson Tide last weekend before fading in the fourth quarter, though the hard-hitting slugfest helped push Alabama up to the top spot in The Associated Press poll ahead of Florida. That will give the rested Vols a second crack at No. 1 this season before wrapping up a sort of regional round-robin with the Gamecocks next week.

Awesome! Night game on Halloween. Clemson is playing Coastal Carolina on Halloween as well, and I heard that Clemson is going to wear all orange and Coastal is going to wear all black. I know a lot of vol fans don't like the all orange look, but I think it would be neat if we wore all orange and USC wore all black. Just a thought.

Hopefully, most parents will be taking their kids trick or treating, and not to a football game (especially involving two medicore unranked teams). Kids quickly grow out of Trick or Treats...they can go to a football game game anytime.

I agree as well. It really made me mad when the starting line ups were being announced before the Georgia game and when John Crompton was announced, about 1/2 the stadium booed. Remember these are still college kids not NFL players. As my mother used to tell me, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

GreensboroVol writes:

As much as I hate to go away from tradition, since it is Halloween and a night game, I think black jerseys and pants with orange numbers might be cool. However, this can only happen once, only because it's a night game on Halloween and the uniforms must be burned as soon as the game is over, never to be seen again.

RebelVol writes:

While im not a huge fan of gimmicks, I have to say that it would be cool if we wore the orange tops with the black pants for this game. When I say that, I mean for this game and this game only. We did it against Bama back in the 60's. I have heard that the student section might be wearing all black. On facebook there is a group event going around called "Halloween Blackout vs USC." It has 4,285 confirmed guests of today

^ here's the answer, they wear all black, we wear all orange. both schools stay true to their colors, and no extra money for uni's (i assume they have both jerseys and pants in black, i try not to watch them, visor boy drives me nuts).

Once the ball was kicked off and the UT fans realized UGA was going to blow them out, the place really rocked. I'm not sure the 1998 Florida game will ever be touched as far as crowd noise. The 2001 SC game was close. Remember ESPN having the noise meter on tv to show people watching at home how loud it was? UGA this year felt like Neyland used to be back in the mid to late 90's. The UGA game was the first game I had been back for in 3 seasons and the stadium had changed so much. When I first got in there it was a bit of a shock how much it had changed. I came into the stadium and wasn't greeted with a cloud of 2nd hand smoke. I went to the bathroom and didn't have to stand in a pool of watered down urine at the "trough" urinals. I went to the concession stand and didn't have a mean lady throw a watered down Coke my direction. The lady at the concession stand was actually nice to me, gave me a Coke that was fresh and delicious. She offered me a tray to put my drinks in and it even had a spot for my fries. The nachos didn't come in a bag with a seperate can of cheese. As stupid as this sounds, I almost cried a bit because I missed the character of old Neyland (bad plumbing and all). However, once the crowd got going it felt like old times and I got over the fact that people were nice, the place was clean, there was hot water in the men's room, no one blew smoke in my face, and my food and drink were delicious. After the game on my trek back to the car, I did get behind an older gentleman lighting up a cigerette and I took in some 2nd hand smoke, just for old times sake.

You have a great point. I can't remember the last time UT won wearing all orange? Memphis on homecoming late 90's maybe. If memory serves me, I think that was a fight to the end. Orange tops, white pants at home. White tops, white pants (or orange pants) on the road. Nothing else.
