I like these two guys, Cody and Cory. I grew up in middle Tn. played for Gallatin against White House. Those corn-fed, country boys were tough! If they can play against big Dan every day, they'll be fine on Saturday. Go VOLS!
JDBVOLS1 writes:
With the 3-4 you got to account for those line backers and that big nose guard helps keep them free. I want us to run inside and out but see the best plays on the outside or with some wide counters. I believe our Cody will be fine. GO VOLS!

"The bigger they are...."
the harder they are to block.
Corch 'em up Kiffin, we can continue the resserection of UT football with a giant step Sat.

I feel the need for speed. Lets hope our receivers are practicing run blocking on the edges. Hardesty, BB, Oku...time to gear up, strap up, man up...The team that runs the ball better wins this game.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog. I think we all know the Sullins' boys have the hearts to fight it out.
Our dogs don't sit on the porch anymore (thats where we put all the other DAWGS)!
GO VOLS!!

You all will have to follow me on this one… I think the key to beating Terrence Cody is letting him “beat” us. Here’s why-
If our offensive tackles can force the defensive ends inside, and our running backs pick up any outside blitz, we can release on Cody and let him chase Crompton out of the pocket. Make his blubbery fat behind run. By the end of the first half, and late in the third quarter, he’ll be so gassed that even if he is out on the field, Sullins will be able to push him around. We might even put Nuke in to QB a few plays to give Cody someone else to chase around. That would be using his size against him, and if they try to counter it by giving Cody more breaks, when he’s out, pound it straight up the middle.

The best way to slow the fat boy down is speed up the game, and don't give bama time to substitute. Watch FAT CODY on the pass rush, he will not get to Crompton. Sure on the run plays he is like an oak tree that will not move. But the best way to get rid of an oak is what? Yes chop it down.
bill#1374014 writes:
Mt. Cody will have to be doubled, if not he will throw Sullins at Crompton and won't have to sack him. Seriously, Bama's linebackers will be making a lot of plays because Cody ties up the middle, especially R. McClain. And, their DBs will lock up receivers, look for at least 2 picks off Crompton. The Vols best chance is to run outside, and hope Hardesty doesn't get hurt.

Except on some passing plays doubt Sullins will have Cody by himself. Vols will double team and trap block him from as many angles as they can devise. I would chop block him all day long. We sure don't have anyone who can stand up and "Sumo wrestle" with that big boy. Bama's real strength is at LB. Look for mis-direction and cut back plays in Vols running game trying to take advantage of their over pursuit. Trying to run wide on them is waste of time - they're too quick to the corner. We just need to run it well enough up inside to sell the play action pass. I think Hardesty will do that for us. Main thing is don't turn it over. Their offense won't score on us unless we give them a short field. Two first downs and a punt inside their 20 is a successful possession.

This will be an interesting match up the whole game. I could see CLK pass first to keep the line backers on their heels. Once that happens and only if that happens we will be able to run. This game CLK will have to go against his philosify and we will have to put the W or L on ol Crompton's accuracy. If he can complete passes down the field you will see us start to run all over them with a 3 man front. I am just hoping we get to see the Crompton that we saw against UGA.

My 3 year old son has accurately predicted two games this year down to the points (the only two games he predicted) One was a loss and one was a win.
I'm going out on a limb here.
He says;
UT by 16 points!
I know, I know but its hard to over look after his being exactly right twice already. Maybe there is such thing as a little magic!
CRFVols writes:
Gotta establish the run to get some play action. Some passes out to the flat can be key as well.

Sounds good to me! GO VOLS!!

What games did he predict? Just out of curiousity. I would take the lil guy to the local convenience store and get a whole handful of lotto tickets lol. Don't believe in magic but hey the kids got a hot hand goin.
I have to tell you guys that im sticking with my prediction of 13-10 BIG ORANGE!!!! Gonna be a good ole fashioned slug fest and I can't wait. I SAID IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!!!!!!!

I'll take heart, brains and determination over pure talent any day...especially at non-skill positions. The Sullins boys remind me of the players on the Tom Osbourne Nebraska teams. Man for man, they were rarely the best athletes but through pure heart, brains and execution they destroyed more talented teams.

Auburn and Georgia!
The spread exactly!
I asked him just as the Auburn game was starting and was shocked when he picked Auburn over UT.I then asked by how many and he said "4". I asked if he was sure and he said "yep"!
Georgia game - same thing. I asked who would win and he said UT! By how much I asked and he said, "26". Of course I thought that was impossible. BOY WAS I WRONG! so naturally its hard not to at least consider his latest prediction.
GO VOLS, BEAT BAMA!!!!
