Lady Vols win back-to-back tournaments

The Tennessee women's golf team made it two in a row Tuesday by winning the rain-shortened Alamo Invitational in San Antonio.

The Lady Vols, led by Nathalie Mansson, shot a 1-over-par 289 to win the 18-hole tournament by three shots over Notre Dame.

Mansson, a sophomore, tied for medalist honors with a 2-under 70, becoming the first Lady Vol to win back-to-back tournaments.

"The ladies played great today," UT coach Judi Pavon said. "With just 18 holes anything can happen out there, so to play well under the pressure of the day was awesome."

In addition to Mansson's spectacular performance, three other Lady Vols placed in the top 21 for the fourth consecutive tournament.

Senior Diana Cantu (72) and freshman Sara Monberg (72) tied for fourth, while, freshman Erica Popson (75) tied for 19th.
