We have a chance for a special season. Hate seeing Kentucky ahead of us in anything. The biggest cheaters ever and now they have a cheating coach. A perfect match. We will crush them with our press this year. GO VOLS!

Pretty good since most coaches are so jealous of CLK. We now have a future.

Sorry fella's. Football on the Brain. What's left of it. Go Vols
Ironcity writes:
I liked Jerry, we made the NCAA's every year he was our coach. His personality to the local Alum sucked but the results were there and please don't tell me about the talent he squandered. Only one player ever got drafted (Haslip)into the NBA and he was a Freshman or Sophmore Greens final year.
The_Greater_Pumpkin writes:
You, my friend, are an idiot! Pick a team! You can't cheer for KY basketball and TN football. Pick a school and stick with it! Either, get with the program and cheer for Pearl, or take your ugly blue shirts and move to Lexington! That way you can become a big KY football fan, too! Enjoy your first couple of years with Calipari, because it won't be long before you are banned from post season play! I am actually predicting the "Death Penalty" for KY bball within 4 years! Good Luck to you and slick John!

How the heck is UNC at 4? I don't care what kind of recruiting class they got, every major contributor to the team that won the national championship is G-O-N-E. Thankfully, unlike in Football, these polls are just amusing and mean nothing.
That said, we have no idea about UNC. I'm a believer that UK will be capital G, Good. But preseason 5? That seems a bit high. And the Big East is way too crazy for Nova to be that highly ranked to start with. That conference is absolutely stacked with good teams. Look at Notre Dame last year. If they were in The SEC they would've finished near the top of the league. In the Big East they got smacked around all year.
All that said, it's Great that we're about to begin Basketball Time in Tennessee.

You're not even a UT fan. I've read your post before. How pathetic is your life that you spend most of it on this site trying to incite the Vol faithful?
We're in the Final 4 this year boys! Book it!
Brillovol writes:
You're not a fan of anything orange and white.
To the topic at hand. The preseason accolades are nice, but they don't help you win in March. We had progress last year in the SEC tourney, now let's take home that trophy. I don't care about the NCAA's as long as we can win the SEC tourney. One task at a time, boys!
htownvol07 writes:
Until UT learns how to make a 3 and Scotty realizes that he is not Ray Allen and learns how to drive to the hole, then they will not make it to the Final 4. The talent and experience is there! They just have to get over that hump. UT will NOT dominate the SEC this year. It will come down to UT, UK, and Mississippi State.
huntined#565710 writes:
We will get a shot at number 1 soon in the year..also KY two times so we can see what we have real soon with KAN.

My goals for UT basketball this year....SEC regular season title and advance to the Elite 8.
I could care less about the "made for TV" SEC Tournament. If you win the regular season, then you are in the NCAAs...the SEC tournament is a meaningless event unless you need a Georgia-like run to make the big tournament.
Go Vols!

Cool. I remember all the years when we dreamed of being good enough to rank 25. The last several years have been good indeed. I'm hoping we can turn the corner soon and recruit more talent. The only way to do that, though, is to consistently win.
DC_Vol writes:
Great post Long Vol,
I have serious concerns about the Point Guard play. I feel we have not improved the position to date except that we are year more experienced at the position. Would be great to recruit a promising Point Guard out of High School.
I am also concerned about Defense. I believe we will be improved because of an additional year of experience, but I am concerned whether Pearl has the necessary pieces to play his Press style of basketball. (e.g. deep rotation of fast guards).
Lastly, accuracy behind the arc was an issue last year, I really hope the guys have been practicing so we can open of the zone defenses.
Should be a great year!!! Go Vols!!!

I think I've finally figured you out. Anyone that beats you is cheaters. I've got it. I guess when you beat teams (football, basketball, whatever), we're suppose to call you cheaters. Okay; got it.

The only thin embarrassing here is the fact you post nothing but, shiat about a coach that has brought Tennessee basketball back from the cellar...You couldn't give UT basketball tickets away in the past and now they are sold out way in advance.
Go root for whatever team you really want to since it's definitely not the VOLS...

No C-DOA teams in polls.

All these pre-season polls should be labeled "for amusement purposes only". For me, the biggest shocks on here were North Carolina and Duke being picked for the top 10. As someone else posted earlier, UNC lost its ENTIRE starting team. Now, Roy Williams is a pretty good coach and the ACC is a pretty good league, but COME ON! Also, the pollsters may not realize that Duke has only two true guards on their WHOLE ROSTER--not two PGs or two SGs, two guards of ANY description! I don't doubt that both teams will have pretty good seasons, but there is, IMHO, NO WAY both of them finish as high as they are right now.

MorristownVol,I can't belive that you are so clue-less,what Pearl did was simply fantastic last year and in no way was it embarrassing! That team was not ready to perform even as great as it did last year, just shows what talent and coaching can do,this year's team will be much more prepared while still realizing that we lost a couple great ones this year.Pearl is not now,has never been and never will be a failure as a Coach. He will go down as one of the greatest of all time!I think Voldoll wasa trying to point that out to Morrisvol!

As far as trying to incite the UT faithful, you are wrong, maybe trying to incite the FOOLMER faithful though.....FOOLMER can S--k it!!!!
