South Carolina needed every last second to find the scoreboard.
Like Tennessee's previous two opponents, the No. 21 Gamecocks still can't find the end zone.
The Vols extended their streak without allowing an offensive touchdown to 10 quarters, converted three turnovers into touchdowns and took a 21-3 lead with them into halftime at Neyland Stadium.
The last time UT headed into the locker room it changed its wardrobe, and the surprising move to black jerseys seemed to give the Vols a major boost early.
Jonathan Crompton has been sharp, and the senior has thrown for a pair of touchdowns. Janzen Jackson and Rico McCoy have supplied huge hits and combined to force three fumbles. The Vols even ended a four-game skid without a sack in the second quarter.
Just about the only issue was another breakdown in field-goal protection after UT had its third consecutive kick blocked. But that has been enough to ruin the parade in the rain so far.
