Third quarter recap: Vols 28, South Carolina 13

The defensive streak is over.

But the Tennessee offense is providing more than enough breathing room again.

Montario Hardesty punched in his second touchdown of the game to offset the first score allowed by the Vols in more than 10 quarters, and heading into the fourth quarter at Neyland Stadium they lead No. 21 South Carolina 28-13.

Hardesty has rushed for 93 yards on 16 carries to pace a balanced attack for the Vols, complementing another steady performance from quarterback Jonathan Crompton. The senior quarterback has accounted for the other touchdowns with completions to fullbacks Austin Johnson and Kevin Cooper, and with 15 minutes to play, he's avoided any major mistakes.

Once again the officials play a role in the game. The 30 yard touchdown reception should have been reviewed. The receiver never had control of the ball until he was sliding out of bounds.

holy sh** we made a field goal. I agree with you ernsberger i dont think he had control either, it looked like the ball was juggled on the way down.

Really thin at LB, hope the guys come thru with just a bruise but it didn't look good for Savi. Got this sudden urge to drive thru Taco Bell and then pump some gas...maybe I'll run into some old SC players.

The coach who cannot coach just not off a top 25 ranked team with a legendary coach?!...Suck it interlopers.... I really believe that we have something special happening here in Tennessee. I see no reason we cannot win out, finish in the top 25, and compete for the SEC Championship next year.
