Former Vol Young released by Rams

Former Vol offensive lineman Eric Young was released by the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday.

The Rams also released linebacker Quinton Culberson to make room for newly signed linebacker Paris Lenon and wide receiver Ruvell Martin.

Young was signed as a free agent in May. He entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie by the Cleveland Browns in 2008, but failed his physical as a result of a lingering college injury and was waived. Young was a surprise name on the Rams’ 53-man roster following this preseason, beating out Phil Trautwein and Renardo Foster for the fourth tackle spot.

He lettered at UT 2005-07.
