CBS College Sports Network airs a special edition of the network’s in-depth interview series ONE2ONE on Friday at 8 p.m., featuring Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin. CBS College Sports Network contributor and USA Today columnist Christine Brennan sits down with Kiffin in advance of the Tennessee at Florida game this weekend on CBS Sports.
Kiffin discusses a range of topics, including his brash offseason comments involving Florida, attracting top recruits through media exposure, his tenure with the Oakland Raiders, his early years coaching at Fresno State, working at USC under Coach Pete Carroll and much more.

Encore presentations of the show air on Friday at midnight and Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Can't see the clip but when is he gonna just say listen, I said those things to group of boosters in a booster environment, meant to pump em up not get spread all over the country by the media.. When Saban got to bama this happened and he told them, what is said to the boosters, stays with the boosters.. if not, he threatened to just not say anything.. I'm just sick of hearing about these same three comments over and over.. Fox sports just jumped on that bandwagon too.. good grief.

I've now seen the UCLA game three times and I feel better. There's enough blame to go around but there is also evidence of better things to come. I was not supportive of getting rid of Fulmer when we did, but I am certain that I see improvement in several different areas. I don't have any idea how many games this team will win, but I'm confident that the program has turned in a positive direction. None of the experts give us any chance at all this Saturday and I understand that, but I believe that Florida, Georgia, Alabama and the rest of the SEC had better take their best shots now because, this program will not be down much longer.
Go Vols!

I admire your fortitude in watching that disappointment three times, but I agree completely that there WERE positives to be taken away from it, especially with regard to the future.

Couldnt have said it any better myself! Everybody talks about Urban Meyer, but the truth is Tim Tebow is the best thing that ever happened to Urban. IMO, georgia, alabama and the rest of the sec with an exception of florida has yet to show me anything exciting this yr.

Media must add drama to everything. Everyone knew and knows what CLK was saying and ment. Typical media needs material to fill the day.

Hey everyone, I can save you a visit to the KNS tomorrow. Top new stories in Friday's edition:
Tebow to be given Heisman, induction to the College Football hall of fame at halftime.
The Gators awarded Sears trophy for 2009. The remander of the Gators season has been forfeited in advance by every opponent & potential SEC & BCS foes. Every one acknowledges there is no need to play the games.
Urban Meyer given five extra time outs to burn in the final minute by Mike Slive. Gators all have his back, again, and say he deserves it for he never would do anything like Kiffin did....follwed by interview with Jevan Snead.
Adams column: Bring back Jim McDonald. The Vols have NO talent, NO hope, and NO coach who has met up to expectations, and he wasn't given a chance back in '63.

This site does that, even if you refer to ESPN basketball commentator RICHARD (my emphasis) Vitale or the great former Bears linebacker RICHARD Butkus--for that matter, I'm surprised it lets you write "Butkus"!

actually, in the video he explains that he did want the media to pick it up and run with it. two months before nsd and no games to play, gotta get some attention somehow. it worked then (top 10 class) and it's working now (top 5 class). if we have to take a few lumps while we rebuild, so be it. not like we weren't going to take a beating on our previous path.

He didn't make excuses for what he said. He said he said those things for a reason. He added that he didn't like doing it, but it got Tennessee on the football map. Who knows if it's true, that it was all planned, but it sure appears to have worked in recruiting. And recruiting big is the only way to improve this team.
