COLUMBIA, S.C. — Neither of South Carolina’s top two quarterbacks practiced much Monday, but coach Steve Spurrier expects them both to be available by this weekend’s game with South Carolina State.
Starter Stephen Garcia is nursing bruised ribs suffered in last Thursday’s win over Mississippi. Backup Reid McCollum has been sick the last several days.
Spurrier says Aramis Hillary and Zac Brindise took most of the snaps at Monday’s practice, but he expects to have Garcia and McCollum back taking most of the work.
Garcia is the only quarterback on South Carolina’s roster with significant playing time.

Playing a MEAC that is good in their league, but will playing way out of it this weekend vs scratchin hens in Columbia. The defense will more than cover for an offense that might drag a little. I expect they'll run the ball alot to protect Garcia's ribs.

Who cares about the Shamecocks? USC is extremely thin, injuries will mount and USC will take its rightful place at the bottom of the east!
