KNS, Please correct Rogers name at the top ticker tape. He is our top recruit and we need it spelled right...with an "s" at the end.

Is he a JUCO? The wording of the article makes it seem like he is. I thought he and Nance were team-mates in HS this year?

Welcome aboard, young man.

Would much rather have Rogers than Ambles. Seems Ambles had a weird attitude.

I thought I saw that scout had him at 6'2 and I'm pretty sure I saw the same on Espn, too.

Nice copy-and-paste job KNS. Clean up the post. The article says he's the #33 JC commit? I blame the editor at 11:30 EST.

Turn about is fair play. GA steals Marlon Brown last year because Mongo couldn't keep his trap shut in front of Grandma and we steal Rogers this year. Dawg fans have short memories. Funny how one's perspective changes when it's your tail that gets burned.

terrible article.... he is NOT and i repeat HE IS NOT AN JUCO..... and we do need to spell his name right at the top under breaking news, what would he think if he saw that? what kind of ship are we running here?

Hooker's facial expression doesn't look so good in the video box. it looks like he was so excited over Rogers that he chit himself.

HA HA HA, you want Da'Rick so bad you cant spell his name correctly or get his record right. Yes sir, you are glad to have him there!!! Hey Da'Rick, keep reminding 'em on Rocky Top how to spell your name.

I'm very impressed with the job that Dooley has done in such a short time. It's really quite incredible. And as someone else already noted, he did it with his mouth shut and his dignity intact. It appears that UT has upgraded its coaching for the second year in a row.

Thank's DC for the good comments. Here's hoping Tennessee will soon be back with the Big Boys, Florida and Alabama. Should be alot of fun.

DC- I've been a vols fan and a football fan for several decades and this by far is the best recruiting class of all time by a long shot. Congrats! Losing Tebow and not having a proven QB is going to be interesting this year. GO BIG ORANGE!

so, if we can't win (for a few) at least we get a shot at the champs

I liked your take on how fans shouldn't go crazy when a kid decides and then changes his mind and decides again and again.

Now, if we could get an educational seminar for the rest of the country to follow your lead.

I was waiting for your insightful comments and you didn't disappoint. You could teach your fellow UGA fans a thing or two about class and rolling with the punches.

Too early to tell but I'll wager Rogers will be more productive than Brown over their careers.

Wow, Hooker...Watching you on these videos only reconfirms the fact that YOU, sir, have a face for radio. And what is up with that lower lip stretching thing you keep doing? Is that nerves from being in front of the camera, or do you always do that? Weird looking stuff, dude.

On a recruiting note, looks like we've done a great job, all things considered. Congrats to coach Dooley on the salvage job! And congrats to you, Hook, on sticking to what you do best rather than writing articles containing your opinion on things. Now if we could just get you to do what you do best ONLY on the radio!

Nice research. Where do you work? I want to apply for a job there. LOL.

No joke, though. You make a great point that the signing day ranking don't mean squat until a kid gets to town, acts like a grown up, goes to class and drops the prima donna thang before fall practice starts.

Athens- You can add one more class. Espn just had their top 10 classes and you were 9th. 5th in the sec behind #1Fla,#2Ala,#3Lsu,#4Aub and Georgia. They have us 11th behind USC

spacehistorian writes:

I'm pleased by the tone of the comments on here today, especially AthensHomerDawg, as most of us seem to understand that the ranking of recruiting classes is all guess work as you need to wait 2-3 years to see how the talent signed performs on the field.

Also, my kudos to AthensHomerDawg as he represents UGA with class which was sorely lacking in the comments by UGA fans I read on the recruiting blog on AJC which were trashing Rogers as being a thug for picking UT at the last minute. Many conspiracy theories were being posited including one that had Coach Dooley buying Rogers off via Nash. Very ugly stuff but fans in the SEC take their football like their religion. They love those who join their team and want to stone to death any apostates who choose a rival school. Thankfully the question on which school did the best job will be settled on the field.

In a side note, the recruiting experts on ESPNU just commented on what a great job Coach Dooley has done with Tennessee's recruiting class and how at the end of the day they will have to seriously consider our class to be in the Top 10. It's a nice change of pace to be getting love from ESPN.
