The Tennessee women's swimming and diving team earned All-America honors in three events at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at Purdue's Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind.

Michelle King of the Lady Vols tied for 13th in the 50-yard freestyle in 22. 48 seconds. It's the third time the senior has finished as an All-American in the event.

King now has 18 all-time All-American honors, fourth most in UT history.

She also swam a leg on the 200 free and 400 medley relay teams.

In the 200 free relay, King, freshman Kelsey Floyd, sophomore Jenny Connolly and junior Morgan Farrell placed 15th - moving up one spot from the prelims - in 1:30.88.

King, Connolly and Floyd teamed up with senior Alex Barsanti in the 400 medley to place 10th in 3:34.78.

After a slow start in the morning prelims, Tennessee heads into today's second day of competition in 14th-place with 21.5 points. Stanford leads with 142.5 points, while Georgia is in second (134) and California is third (122).

"Tonight was better," Lady Vols coach Matt Kredich said. "I thought we executed our races better. I'm looking forward to seeing Michele get better over the next couple of days. Kelsey Floyd really stepped up on both relays and that gave us a boost. We'll go into tomorrow with some momentum. We've got a lot of swims and a lot of opportunities to score tomorrow, so we're looking forward to putting some more points on the board."
