What an awesome team to get this far and overcome the adversities this year. Keep winning Big Orange! How SWEET this sixteen is!

Congratulations on the success so far. Good luck next Friday.
GO VOLS!

It would be super sweet to be in the ELITE 8! Shut down Turner and you stop Ohio St.
DCFloridaGatorz69 writes:
You look how deep Tennessee's bench is compared to OSU (starters played all but 9 minutes today), and you have to believe Coach Pearl will find a way to exploit that to UT's favor.
stayingorange writes:
UT defended the guards perfectly yesterday. Need that same approach. Good to see Josh Bone bring out those D skills. He could be important to stop Turner.

Go gettem Vols.
I think they can do it....GBO!

I believe our Vols know that they let one slip away 3 years ago vs. OSU and will come ready to play from opening tip. I like our chances here.

I work with a bunch of ohio state fans so I can hear it now on how they are going to beat us again...
GBO and CBP will get his revenge!!!!!!

I live in Michigan so.....when we beat Ohio State and when MSU beats Northern Iowa, we will meet the Spartans for the next round--how fun would that be?! I will have to have a Vol-Sparty Party for all my MSU friends! Go Vols!

Why don't we just let the coach who has won 27 games and has taken us to this position three times in four years decide who plays and how much?
I trust his judgment.

WE ARE UT! Good job VOLS, let's get this next win and move on to the eight! You can do it!
GO VOLS! Bruuuuce!

Folks
We are playing on house money right now so lets play loose and from this point on its all gravy.
Being realistic you have to admit with all thats happened sweet 16 is probably what many hoped for--- well now that were here everything from this point on is all win nothing to lose.
Watching ESPN and CBS here is what they said about Tennessee ------(crickets chirping)
We are to good for cinderella stories and not good enough to be mentioned with the Dukes etc.
I hope the silence continues

I suspect he has TJ....multiple times.

Thank you very much! I'm so sick of these ignorant basketball fans pretending they know anything about the game. CBP has done a masterful job of getting this team to the sweet 16, again. I like our chances Friday, if the guys execute CBP's gameplan and make a good percentage of their open looks, Vols win. GBO

Pearl is a plus,he has earned a spot on the floor, great D player!

Good point, but why wait this long to get JB back in the line-up??
He was pivotal early when UT was shorthanded and performed well, defensively and offensively..
FWBVol writes:
The way this side of the bracket is playing out I really like our chances of making it to the Final Four. Ohio State's record isn't really better than our's and we beat the teams that were No. 1 and No. 2 in the country in Kansas and Kentucky.
CrankE writes:
GBO!!!
We owe these guys twice over from the 2006-07 season. Just win baby!
BTW: I can't help but notice that Obama picked Kansas to win it all. The curse continues.
Fryinpansvols writes:
Actually counting today he had 5 days to get our team ready for Ohio State. One of the advantages I see is that we played yesterday afternoon and Ohio State played today. So CBP and his staff had our boys watching the Ohio State and Georgia Tech game together resting at home while Ohio State were playing. We had the extra day. I hope that it pays off. GBO and beat Ohio State!

You want Wayne to play all 40 minutes? How about when he gets in foul trouble? What would you do then, Mr. Coach Gr? Brian and Kenny can't play the four. Prince and Tatum can't play the four. Woolridge can't play. Who?

Kentucky basketball: bread and circuses for the people, while the Commonwealth's pension plan teeters toward bankruptcy.
Kentucky basketball: a winning tradition built on a foundation of corruption. If Kentucky had run a clean program all these years, the Wildcats wouldn't be any better at basketball than they are at football.
First school to get NCAA death penalty in basketball? KENTUCKY
In Season on the Brink, Bobby Knight called what school cheaters more than 25 years ago? KENTUCKY
Eddie Sutton was never in trouble with NCAA BEFORE or AFTER he coached at what school? KENTUCKY (DUI is not an NCAA violation.)
(Fill in the blank) Jerry Tarkanian once said: “The NCAA is so mad at ______ that they will probably give Cleveland State two more years of probation.” KENTUCKY
Only school to hire a coach who was coach at two different schools whose appearances in Final Four were ordered “vacated” by NCAA? KENTUCKY
In December 2009, Bobby Knight said "integrity is really lacking" in college basketball and cited the coach of what school as an example? KENTUCKY
Typical Kentucky responses:
1. “Bobby Knight is a jerk.” My response: Knight is a jerk, and a bully, but he has NEVER been accused of being a CHEATER.
2. “Tennessee fans are jealous of Kentucky.” My response: Jealous of North Carolina or Duke, maybe. But contemptuous of Kentucky.
I’d like to thank all Kentuckians for coming down to Tennessee and leaving all that money at the SEC Tournament last weekend. When you don’t fund your state pension plan, I guess you can afford to spend big. I'm sitting here looking at last week's Barron's, which says Kentucky's state pension plan is only 64% funded, with a $12.3 billion unfunded liability. Tennessee's is 95% funded. So Kentucky is in the hole nearly $3,000 for every man, woman, and child in the Commonwealth.

It is obvious to all you Pearl Bashers that it is time to shut the pie hole and start supporting our coach. He is a great coach that has guided us (a football school to 4 out of the last Five Sweet Sixteens) We actualy got lucky on the seeding we got and the Kansas upset. We have a shot at winning it all for real!! We beat OSU and then Either MSU or N Iowa We are Final Four . Pearl has to be the coach of the year in my opinion for sure!!

I hope we don't get hosed again by the refs like we did TWICE in 2007. As I recall, Ohio State shot 30 something free throws in the second half versus 8 for the Vols the last time they met in the regionals. It seems the SEC (a southern team) always gets screwed when playing a Little 10 (a northern team). Prejudice prevails!
Go Vols !!!

Darned near everyone ELSE in the country picked Kansas this year, and most people picked UNC last year, too. Guess that proves Obama really IS human! Like everybody else, sometimes he is right and sometimes he is wrong.

Coaches trade info with their buddies all the time! The value of such contacts is somewhat lessened by the availability of all the tape anybody wants to look at on virtually any team in the country, but you can be sure those two will speak at some point. As Plas said, I'm not sure how much good it will do Matta, since we don't have a "go-to" guy, like Turner for them, or even a "go-to" system that can be scouted, like Syracuse's zone. About all he can tell Matta is that the Vols play hard, but Matta already knew that!

You are both correct, but your arguments are way too subtle for the SP haters. I've noticed how they highlight every little thing he does wrong while ignoring the things he does right AND ignoring the things the guys they like better do wrong. You just can't reason with some people.
