Tennessee left tackle Dallas Thomas did not practice Thursday afternoon, but his ankle injury is not considered to be any worse than it was earlier in the week.

Thomas, who practiced Tuesday and Wednesday but was limited, was held out for precautionary reasons, and his status for Saturday's game against Georgia will be determined close to game time.

Safety Prentiss Waggner (unknown injury) practiced all week, but wore a red, non-contact jersey.

Senior kicker Daniel Lincoln (quadriceps) missed his third consecutive practice Thursday, which all but rules him out for the Georgia game. Freshman Michael Palardy will be Lincoln’s replacement.

The King Is In: Linebackers coach Lance Thompson said sophomore Greg King wasn’t at 100 percent just yet, but was as close as he’s been all season during practice this week.

King, who has missed UT’s past two games, has been hampered by repeated injuries. It’s taken a toll on him both physically and mentally, Thompson said.

“He has to got to get up to speed on all the stuff,” Thompson said. “Greg’s going to be a fine player for us down the line.

“The thing about Greg I like the most is that he’s really physical and he gives really good effort.”

Is it really important to protect Matt Simms' blindside? Seems that there is a jailbreak on virtually every play, so it may not matter much. Just put in some three step drop and sling it plays, so he doesn't get killed. Go Vols! SAVol

Not so well last week.

LIncoln has been good and Palardy will be good. I watched the LSU game again (to see exactly what happened) and on Palardy's kick the snap was off. The holder had to reach to his left which threw off Palardy's timing which caused him to miss the field goal. Watch that kick again and you'll see the holder have to reach to his left and grab the ball. The kick had the distance. I blame that one on the long snapper.
If Thomas can't go who starts then? Marquis Pair?

Glad Dallas's injury isn't getting worse as he takes time off from practice.

I don't hate the lad at all. Is he injury prone? It would seem so.

I think it's a nagging injury. I think we have seen the last of Lincoln. A year of rest and he will make a nice walk on for some team.
