Ralph Weekly inducted into fastpitch coaches' Hall of Fame

Tennessee co-head softball coach Ralph Weekly became the 51st member inducted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Hall of Fame on Friday night in Las Vegas.

"I'm very fortunate and honored to be elected by my peers,'' said Weekly, who coaches the Lady Vols with his wife, Karen. "I owe it to every player, coach and administrator that has worked with me.''

Weekly's 24-year career includes 1,015 victories, two NAIA national championships at Pacific Lutheran (1988, 1992) and four Women's College World Series appearances at UT (2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010).

Tennessee has won 514 games under the Weeklys since 2002, two SEC tournament championships (2006, 2011) and the 2007 SEC regular-season championship.

Weekly also has enjoyed a successful career with the USA Softball program, including serving as a hitting coach, third-base coach and team leader with the high-profile gold medal-winning 1996 (first Olympic softball competition ever) and 2000 U.S. Olympic softball squads.
