Harris averaged 8.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals inl wins over LSU and Ole Miss last week.
“Tobias is a legitimate freshman All-American candidate,'' UT coach Bruce Pearl said at his weekly press conference on Monday. “He has an unusual maturity for a freshman, and a great feel and understanding for the game.''
Pearl pointed out that Harris is averaging close to a double-double through Tennessee's six SEC games with 14.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per contest.
Harris rolled his left ankle with just under 13 minutes left in a 74-57 win at Ole Miss on Saturday.
Though Harris returned to the game, Pearl said the 6-foot-8, 226-pound power forward has received treatment on the ankle and has been placed in a protective boot.
“He may get out of his boot this afternoon and see if he can do some movement and exercises,'' Pearl said Monday.
UT (14-7, 4-2 SEC) returns to action at 9 p.m. Thursday at Auburn (8-13, 1-6) in a game that will be televised by ESPN2.
