So is washpun not playing in the league or did i just miss his name?
TheOpinion writes:
Man how quickly has the talent fallen off? We have UT players getting picked into the 20s and 30s for a local league. I remember when we hat TSmith, JP, Wayne, Hopson, CLo, Jujuan, etc.
Chris4Vols22 writes:
And it's JAjuan, dammit.
TheOpinion writes:
My bad I accidentally put in a U instead of an A. I played against the guy in a tourney in Georgia and our coach kept calling him Jay John. haha
TheOpinion writes:
How are you going to say I'm an idiot? haha The talent level of our basketball team has fallen off so much this year. I'm not talking about the overall talent for the Rocky Top League. I'm talking about the Vols. The two best players left now we just have a bunch of role players.

Wes isn't here yet or he would have been selected.
Hoops43 writes:
20 & 30s? All of the current players and incoming freshmen were selected earlier than 20. The former players you mention were an exceptional group.

I counted 13 Railsplitters in this league.

You're an idiot because no current volunteer was picked in the 20s or 30s. Except for the walk-ons.

The talent level is way down dude. Kenny Hall at #1. CBP is gone so none few of the ex-players like JuJuan and Lofton are coming back. The talent level of the program is about 10% of what it was at any point of the CBP era. Another disturbing fact is that only about half of the newly signed players are going to be on campus during the summer, where traditionally they were all here. I'm afraid this reflects the state of the basketball program at UT now. CBP built something great and now it is in ruins.
TheOpinion writes:
Its a figure of speech dude I was trying to make a point. Its called exaggeration. Its like saying your wife weighs a ton. In reality she only weighs 500lbs hahaha
tmartin writes:
Steven Pearl was the 46th pick (8th round) in a rec league. Yet he managed to be in the rotation on a D-1 SEC team??????? Maybe Bruce should coach this team, then he could actually be a starter.

As an alumni that's the first thing that impressed me as well. Most of them are current or incoming players. Things are looking up in Harrogate !
tmartin writes:
I saw that. There are only 6 more from UT than LMU. You can probably find better basketball at Court South than at Bearden this summer.
TheOpinion writes:
I'm loving this post. How that dude ever got on the court is beyond me.
samvol writes:
Bruce built and Bruce killed. blame it on the lie lie lie....liar...

LMU has a fine basketball program and their coach, Josh Schertz, was nominated for the Clarence Gaines Award this year. The award goes to the outstanding coach in D2 basketball. LMU will be ranked in the top ten of D2 ball this fall and they are loaded with D1 level talent. Dont knock them till you seem them. Go to Bearden and check them out. Desond Johnson could play for most SEC teams and Cam Carden is a better pure shooter than anyone UT has including Skylar McThree
