Biggest Flop: Tennessee. Don't get me wrong, I did not enjoying watching the continuing saga of the most persecuted Jewish man in Knoxville. First Mike Hamilton openly speculated about Pearl's job status the day before the tournament began. Then the team dropped the biggest steaming pile of phooey on the court in Charlotte I have ever seen in tournament play. It was so bad, I look for future tournament selection committees to seriously evaluate any team who falls apart as the season goes on. Call it the Tennessee criterion. How can a competitive bball coach seriously evaluate his future at Tennessee until after he knows what the NCAA has in store for the VOls. He can't. I look for a 2nd coach in 3 years. At least no mattresses were lost in the last 24 hours.

Guess what? There's a tournament goin' on!!??? KNS keep this junk going as long as you can . Just like the TV Media...months and months of one story because there aren't many other "bad news" items to cover!LOL Hey every body... Pearl will be ok...at least financially unless he spends it all. I really don't blame KNS for all these ridiculous tired articles because us fans keep on posting and buying the papers.
BTW UT should fire everbody and close down.hehe

I feel the same as I did when Fulmer was fired. They both had to go but it still hurts to see people that bleed orange leave. Bruce has no one to blame but himself. Vol for Life!

Until Hamilton is gone, I don't see any of the guys mentioned above taking the job. Why should you when you'd have to watch your back every single minute? And from up here in VA, I can tell you that it's highly unlikely that Mooney or Shaka Smart would even WANT it! They are both in the middle of building big programs here, so why should they leave to work for the biggest backstabber in the south?

Are we really going to allow the national opinion winds to direct our UT off course? Why allow them to fire a our winner in coach Pearl? His good works & deeds in Knoxville alone are worthy of a second chance as in his cancer charity. I’m hanging in with Pearl. (The two recruits in question): Pearl had (Craft & Shelby) verbal commitments to Tennessee. Both were TOP 25 (Rivals) talent. Are the ESPN’ Dukey’s Jay Bias, TFP Mark Wiedmer & David Climer going to run UT? If so their bias’s & opinions are not in UT’s interest, they think Tennessee is not to recruit upper crust basketball talent, it’s a football school in the SEC. Top Basketball talent goes to the ACC, Big Ten, East Big 12 & MEMPHIS. Kansas & Ohio State turned Tennessee in for too many phone calls on wrong days & feeding them BQ @ Pearls home on their visit to a UT football game. Both recruits are likely riding around in Kansas & Ohio State in new SUV’s! for heaven sakes. Both schools say Pearl’s a Cheater!, more of the Big 12, Big Ten & ESPN looking down their noses at UT & keeping a little school town in the Appalachian mountains in its place. ESPN says Kentucky is the only SEC school aloud to recruit TOP basketball talent. They want Tennessee back in the NIT & out of their NCAA Basketball tournament. The Big East got 11-teams in the dance. The SEC got 5 & lucky to get that. Alabama the West winner, got the shaft & the NIT. Pearl was a foul shot away from the FINAL Four last year. Pearl’s six years in a row to the NCAA never before done @ Tenn. We Won OUR first NIT tournament this year in New York kicked Villanova but! In 80-years of UT basketball our first NIT Win. If we turn on Pearl & fire him for trying to Recruit top talent to our UT & WIN? We deserve to be called LosserVillie! We need to bull dose Thomson Boling Area after we fire him. Because Pearl filled it. Before him,… we hung Curtains around the upper deck. Pearl Hung NCAA banners! Six in a row!

It's all history, not pleasant to deal with but Coach Pearl is gone, Hamilton is still AD and life must move on. But if the UT officials are smart they will consider that many if not all good quality coaches WILL NOT TOUCH UT with Ham man at the controls. Quite frankly, I don't blame them. So long Coach Pearl, we owe you a lot and wish you the best.
