I am serious when I say Doley needs t never talk or look at the team at halftime.
I dont care about the score, our team is just plain bad after the half. Almost every single game Dooley has coached here our team has given up a killer drive in the 3rd quarter. This is becoming the identity of the Vols. Strong 1st half team but will never win a 2nd half.
Last night finally proved that our 2nd half woe's are not because of depth or experience. If we cant score a single point (or 2 at minimum) vs big ole MTSU in the entire 2nd half then I am very worried. To be honest MTSU may have been the better team in the 2nd half last night. UT did nothing to show they was the better team.
ANd Jim Chaney and Dooley, enough already. UT can not run. MTSU had a extremely undersized D-Line and UT's O-Line did not creat a single big hole for the runners last night. That is just sad.
UT is a passing Offense, period. We have2 QBs who have big arms, a quite a few capable WRs, good TE and with Lane and Young we have 2 speedy RBs out of the backfield.
I am not saying pass every play but running the ball straight up the middle 3 of every 4 plays is just ignorant. I understand last night was used as practice but the UT O-Line failed that practice horribly.The 100+ yards on the groung is misleading. It took how many attempts? How many SEC teams would have finished with that low of a total in rushing yards vs MTSU?
Worley looked great last night other than the deep pass. When 21 is open it was overthrown by a mile and once was just a prayer thrown up into double coverage and that has to be fixed.
The attendance last night was nothing to be proud of. Things need to get better next year. We all know it.
True VOL fans, this is not that complicated! At present, we just don't have the talent and depth of talent to compete! LSU and Bama have defenses that would give some NFL offenses a challenge this year! It pains me to say this, but I would not be surprised if mobs start showing up on both campuses to protest because both these teams are HOARDING ALL THE WEALTH of players! I don't care what happens with the rest of the BCS standings and ratings this year, these 2 teams are head and shoulders above ALL the rest! If anyone else plays for the championship, it will be a terrible injustice!
How does this relate to the VOLS?...We just played 4 of the best defenses IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY during the month of October! That is why we lost! Give Dooley at least 4 years (I'm not saying he will succeed!) to show improvement, but don't expect a miracle-worker at this point!
