Tennessee got back one women's basketball player from the injured list on Wednesday.
Junior guard Taber Spani, who underwent surgery on her left elbow on Oct. 4, was back at practice, wearing a sleeve on her left arm. Spani originally was projected to be sidelined for three to four weeks by the procedure, which removed a build-up of scar tissue.
"I'm just glad to have her back," UT coach Pat Summitt said.
Spani averaged 8.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 22.8 minutes per game last season, starting 26 of 37 games.
"She's somebody we know is going to play significant minutes,'' Lady Vols assistant coach Dean Lockwood said. "So she needs to get in the fold and get the reps in."
Freshman point guard Ariel Massengale continues to be sidelined after colliding with teammate Cierra Burdick last Monday and suffering concussion-like symptoms. She watched practice for a second consecutive day.
Guard Kamiko Williams is recovering from knee surgery that she had in July.
