You forgot to mention that CDD should also try to reassure the faithful here by keeping the myth intact...That is that everone knows that underclassmen can't play and we're two years away...Then in the next breath tell them that the reason we're not successful is because we lost one of those underclassmen, Justin Hunter, who I just said can't play.

Read your first sentence...realized it was you...and moved on. I hope the rest of the Vol faithful will do the same.

It used to be fun and interesting to see the banter back and forth between the likes of PPO and the Zs...and the true Vols. But not so much anymore.

It gets old...and stale...and now I just pass on it. If my friends on here will do the same...well...maybe the jokers will tire and go away.

Dooley and Fulmer would get along just fine. They are actually alot alike in their coaching styles. I would also assume Fulmer is over being fired and isnt too happy that the program he loves is staring down another 5/6 loss season and averaging almost 7 losses a year since he's been gone. I just hope Dooley has as much success as Fulmer did and fans wont run him off with their unrealistic expectations the way the did Fulmer.

You're right Fulmer was certainly predictable...Certainly can't say that about Dooley...Who would have predicted a rushing offense 105th in the nation...And there's certainly nothing predictable about a team that can't execute a center snap...Boy you got me there.

Oh, sounds like I touched a nerve.. HaHaHa... No donkey boi I don't get you there... Most semi intelligent folks could have easily predicted a pretty pityful offense (and defense) given what Dooley was given to work with. Gee..All I read here is that Dooley is an ace crackerjack recruiter, a master moitvator and a builder of high character young men...Given that impeccible resume and having two recruiting classes under his belt...His freshmen and sophmores can't, by your own definition, be immature, youthful, and in need of another year or two...Trying to have it both ways is nothing more than pure excuse making.

When you have 22 SEC Titles, a winning record against all SEC member schools alltime, the most bowl wins/appearances, 834 wins, 98 first team all americans, 30 ten win seasons, 12 undefeated season with at least 10 games played, and 7 former players in the NFL Hall of Fame you can be a little arrogant lol. WOW, you start 3-0 and you think you have a clue about the football knowledge of the Big Orange Nation. Let me guess, James Franklin would do a better job?! And how many of those titles do you remember personally? I'm only 40 and didnt start getting into football as a UT fan until the mid 80s. The arrogance that I think is unfounded are from the ones that werent even around to experience it. Since Ive been watching, Bama's only had 3 outright SEC titles, and had more losing seasons than UT has. And worse losing seasons of 9 and 8 losses. Add to that the fact that the 11-5 record Fulmer had vs Bama and I dont view them as dominant as Bama fans view themselves. Oh and lets not forget all that cheating Bamas gotten caught doing. Thats certainly not something I respect. Vacating and Forfeiting games is really not something to be proud of. And you are right that UT is second, but honestly I dont care much about things that happened before I was born. I can see why some people would take pride in it though.

Agree , and you are right that he will get at least 2 more years unless they really take a step back next year. I do think fans have a right to voice their displeasure of about certain aspects of the game, but some take it way too far. People that are already calling him a failure are just wishing it to be so. Any true fan should be proud to have a smart coach with integrity and a great football background and give him at least 3 years before they start calling for him to be fired. Thats just ridiculous and only meant to start stuff. There is no way they are Vol fans unless they are still so bitter that Fulmer was fired and they cant let it go. Either way , Dooley will get more time and losing to a team we were supposed to isnt the end of the world. I do expect them to look better as the season goes on though.

I would think Dooley has to win the SEC by 2013 to keep the new AD from probably dismissing him.
I think the displeasure you're seeing is primarily on the Florida game where fans expected to see a better product on the field. It's not that we lost to Florida that stings so bad, but in the way we lost to Florida, which isn't that good of a team. The lack of a running game and being ranked 105th in rushing when you've played two cupcake teams and a Florida team with sophmore linemen doesn't exactly give fans a warm fuzzy feeling that our coaches are getting it done when you add all the other mistakes our guys are making. Dooley needs to put the heat under the rearends of his coaching staff!

Dave Hart's own words:
"But I never as an AD, never as a collegiate administrator, have hired a coach and said, 'Here's the situation: If your student athletes are good students and if they are good citizens and represent us well, you can coach here as long as you want.' Because that's a lie. What happens in competition will largely dictate the coach's future."

Not that it matters, but there was quite a bit of difference in Florida 2002 and Florida 2011. And if you recall, when UT did get the center/QB exchange resolved, Tennessee rushed for over a 100 yards in that game.
