Ah, the Lane Kiffin era, otherwise known around Big Orange Country as the Year of Living Stupidly.
Like an old septic tank that won't stop stinking, another Kiffin caper emerged late Monday night on Yahoo! Sports involving former Volunteers assistant coach Willie Mack Garza and notorious talent scout Willie Lyles.
According to the website, Garza wired Lyles $1,500 in July of 2009 to cover plane tickets for running back prospect Lache Seastrunk and his mother, Evelyn.

First. They make a great excuses for Dooley 2 star 2aa Doolittle Dooley to keep running a program that is now steering even further off the cliff.

I would hope that sooner than later you will get tired of posting such stupid messages. It is indeed a reflection of your lack of intelligence and certainly identifies you as no fan of Tennessee. Please write something positive for a change or go to your favorite teams site and write your dumb remarks . GBO

Of course, other programs will continue to use "NCAA issues" against UT in recruiting.
Mike Hamilton, Lane Kiffin, and the thousands of fans who thought Kiffin and his staff were cute with the shenanigans they were pulling, have damaged the program beyond repair.
Where have you gone Phil Fulmer?

And when fans like you would pose the question: "uh, don't we seem to be getting into a lot of shady areas with Kiffin," they would be shouted down by the crowd who bought the Kiffin line "I'm just bringing attention to our program!"
What a load of bs, then and now.

kiffen, raleigh, and (i hate to admit it) pearl. all of them deeply flawed and all hamilton hires. i could spend all day talking about how these coaches should never, ever been hired, but that misses the real point: who the hell hired hamilton? the man was a walking disaster. his tenure will be remembered in knoxville with all the nostalgia the cambodians have for pol pot. somebody ought to pay for hiring and keeping that bozo. i'm a long way from sold on dooley. his credentials are as thin as hamilton's short list. i've got to admit that the fact he is another of hammy's heirlooms makes me suspicious.

Mark Weidmer was a huge fan of Kiffin while at UT, now; he writes as if he knew that Kiffin was a crook. True, it was not a good hire for UT with Kiffin, but he could have excelled had he been straight and ran a tight ship, for recruits believed in him just like all others did when at UT, including Mark W. Have idea that Kiffin will get some lashes from this incident, and other than another cloud hanging over the Vols, maybe,, just maybe they will escape any further penalties.

Make USC show "just cause" for keeping Kiffin.
Volunatic writes:
Well, this is exactly what I was afraid of when I first heard that Garza had been dealing with Lyles.
Even if the NCAA doesn't penalize UT any more, this will be used against Tennessee in recruiting by conference rivals. It will also mean another 6 to 8 months of bad press, especially from in-state columnists like Wiedmer and Climer who have an axe to grind against UT for some reason.

You are like network TV during the summer. Just a rerun of something stupid you have already heard.
If you cannot contribute something of substance, value or even a validated objective opinion (fact based) then just take your fingers away from the keys on your computer and read.
Posting childlike dribble that has no purpose other than to insight anger is a sign of being mentally challenged. Grow up. If you want to walk among men then act like one. If your only objective is to post something to bring attention to yourself then seek help.

Lane Kiffin's tenure at Tennessee is a lot like that wet dog smell in your basement. Even though the dog might be long gone, the stench remains.

Worse than when LSU hired Gerry DiNardo? Worse than when Notre Dame hired Gerry Faust? Worse than when Earlham College hired Gerry Keesling? (Okay, Keesling is a decent coach, but I was on a roll with the guys named "Gerry".)

The Kiffin debacle = perfect karma for GerryOP and NavalOrange......just saying.
Volunatic writes:
I'll throw out a term with which you are personally familiar: "FAIL".
Derek Dooley has (and will always have) a MUCH better coaching record than Gerry DiNardo.
OrangePride writes:
The more you know about Kiffin and the staff he had here, the more obvious it becomes that we should all send a thank you card to USC for hiring this bum away! In the clearness of hindsight, it is likely to be the worst coaching hire in the history of Tennessee....and quite possibly, USC as well. Boy, are we lucky to be rid of this filth.
