Tennessee women's basketball coach Holly Warlick has rounded out her administrative staff, naming Lenoir City High School athletic director/assistant principal Janet McGee as assistant to the head coach.
Warlick also added former Lady Vols practice player Josh Baney as a graduate assistant.
McGee, who has worked at Lenoir City since 1983, has been the athletic director at Lenoir City the past six years.
She's excited about the job at Tennessee, McGee said, but also feels bittersweet about the move because of her many years at Lenoir City.
McGee's final day at Lenoir City will be Aug. 10.
"It's been a good place and the community has been really good, the board and the director and all those people, to me. A lot of great friends there," said McGee, who played basketball at Tennessee Tech from 1977-1982.
"But this is such a great move for me. I'm not ready to quit working right now, although I've got my years in. To get to go over there and be a part of that program is just unbelievable."
During her time at Lenoir City, McGee had coaching stints with the school's basketball, softball and golf teams.
Some of McGee's primary duties at Tennessee will include managing daily operations in the basketball office and assisting in on-campus recruiting activities.
"Janet possesses great organization and administrative skills from her previous positions as an athletics director and coach," Warlick said in a UT release.
Baney was a student at Tennessee from 2001-05. He played a year of professional basketball in Ecuador in 2006. He was a boys' assistant coach at Briarcrest Christian High School (2005-09, 2011) in Memphis and a men's assistant coach at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn., from 2010-11.
"Josh has coaching experience at both the high school and college levels, and, of course, is familiar with this program as a practice player," Warlick said.
"I am pleased to add Janet and Josh, and the talents they possess, to our staff."
