Greg Wallis has taken on a new role as director of baseball operations on Dave Serrano’s staff.
Wallis, who came from Cal State-Fullerton with Serrano in 2011, was a volunteer assistant coach last season. He replaces Kenny Gajewski who spent one season with the Vols.
Gajewski, who was earning an annual salary of $29,038, was hired last month as an assistant softball coach at Florida.
Florida softball coach Tim Walton and Gajewski played baseball together at Cerritos Junior College under Serrano, then later for Oklahoma as the duo helped guide the Sooners to the 1994 College World Series title.
