Backup Clemson WR Bryant suspended for bowl

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson reserve wide receiver Martavis Bryant will miss the Chick-Fil-A Bowl for failing to meet academic requirements.

Tigers coach Dabo Swinney announced Bryant's suspension Tuesday. No. 14 Clemson (10-2) will face ninth-ranked LSU (10-2) at the Georgia Dome on Dec. 31.

Bryant is a sophomore who has 10 catches for 305 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games. He was listed as a backup to star wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
