NCAA extends eligibility for LSU's OG Dworaczyk

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU offensive guard Josh Dworaczyk has been granted a sixth year of eligibility.

Dworaczyk, of New Iberia, suffered a season-ending knee injury during training camp in August, missing all 14 games.

After learning of the NCAA's decision Wednesday, Dworaczyk says he felt as if he had some unfinished business and getting the additional year "is a blessing."

Dworaczyk has played in 38 games during his career, starting 26 at left guard. He started all 13 games in 2009 and 2010. Dworaczyk received his undergraduate degree in general studies last May and will graduate with a second degree in sports administration in the fall.

Coach Les Miles says having Dworaczyk back is great news for the Tigers program, which begins preparing for the 2012 season March 1 with spring practice.
