Letters to the Sports Editor: Feb. 12

Margaret Parker, Knoxville

Have the UT men's sports programs gotten so bad that John Adams has nothing to write about? Since when did he become an expert on the Lady Vols basketball team? He has written negatively about the men for years and this paper has allowed it. Now, he has started in on the Lady Vols. We have a sports writer, Dan Fleser, who covers the Lady Vols quite well. We don't need or want John Adams and his negative thoughts!

Karolyn Welty

With all due respect to Pat Summitt's great coaching staff, her successor should be young and have the reputation to attract the best recruits to Tennessee. (Remember Pat's story of her father's advice: "You don't take donkeys to the Kentucky Derby.")

Tamika Catchings, Candace Parker, Chamique Holdsclaw, Nicky Anosike, Kellie Jolly Harper, Nikki Caldwell, Kara Lawson: any one of these former players has the youth, energy, and potential to maintain the program at the high level Pat has established.

Go Lady Vols!

Great letter and she hit the nail on the head about John Adams...he is the "King Of Negative" when it comes to any sport at the University of Tennessee.
Maybe KNS and Adams have forgotten who pays the bills....?

True... but its useless... no KNS Editor for the past 20 years has had sufficient cahones to get rid of Mr. Kook Adams!
