Tennessee starting center Kenny Hall has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team, according to a school release.
Vols freshman Jarnell Stokes will start in Hall's place tonight (TV: MyVLT, 8 p.m.) against Arkansas at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Hall has appeared in all 25 games for UT this season, starting the first 14 and the past two. He leads the team in blocked shots (25) and is averaging 6.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 20.2 minutes per game.
Tonight's lineup change is the fifth since the start of the SEC season. The Vols are 4-0 in games in which UT coach Cuonzo Martin has changed the starting order.

Kenny Hall gets suspended and the power goes out on campus....I can hear scary Halloween music

Hope Stokes is able to bring it! Always something!

"Character is a choice " Anthony Grant said this before he suspended 4 of his best players. Hopefully Kenny learns his lesson and everybody else has paid attention. We don't need any more casualties. I hope this doesn't kill our momentum down the stretch, we need all these wins coming up to keep our slim hope for a tourney birth alive.
GiveHim6TDTennessee writes:
Let's hope this doesnt spur the momentum because we really need all the wins we can get going forward. It'll be interesting to see what it was that was detrimental.

Cuonzo is the man. Break the rules, you sit.

Good and bad news at the same time, it always stinks loosing a good player. But I'm glad that these players aren't treated like gods and get away with everything.
BigHouse_of_IceGulp writes:
Hope it was a small infraction and Kenny will be back next game. He has improved his play the last couple of games.

26-10 maybe we won't miss him.
overthetop writes:
Oh well, who cares. Won't miss him. Is it just me, or is Jordan McRae a complete idiot. I know he has skills, but he can't make a play without making a stupid face. The coaching staff my let him know this isn't high school and he supposed to make plays and show a little class along the way

Is this the same team that lost to AP? WOW.
Tennessee is just on fire tonight on both ends.
VERY impressive.
C Martin is a keeper.

"Conduct detrimental to the team"
Not the ubiquitous "broke team rules."
Does that make it more serious or just CCM's way with words?

Wow go vols!

HUH?? McRae is a MAJOR reason for our recent success.

Coach Dooley needs to sit down with Cuonzo and take lessons on how to be in charge of your program and not be afraid of your own players - of course, Dooley would have to grow a pair first.

Can we get some do overs. Memphis in Maui. Oakland. Austin Peay. Charleston. The game at Mississippi State. At Georgia. The Kentucky home game. This team is just a few plays away from being 20-5.

Coach, you have my full support! Act right and we'll do anything to help you....don't act right and sit your a33 on the bench!
Go Vols!

If Martin can recruit as well as Pearl we may have a better team in the long run. There has been a remarkable amount of improvement since the beginning of the season.
Is Maymon a junior or senior?

With McRae, Skyler "The Grainger Co. Gunner" McBee, and Golden our guard play is suddenly lethal! And Stokes just dunked ALL OVER DUDE!!!!! LOL

I think McRae has arms 9' long! He will definitely be All-SEC next yr if he keeps his head on straight. I think he and Golden have progressed immensely since Dec.

Coach Martin is looking like the real deal now isnt he. Man I hope he proves all "the sky is falling" people wrong and I hope he does it the right way all the way

If Pearl were still coach we would be.
Rich_Is_Re-born writes:
Yeah...I mean the loss to Charleston Pearl suffered last yr wasn't as bad as CCM's now was it? Didn't we lose to Oakland last yr, or did they just scare the heck out of us? Not to mention the loss to Charlotte last yr. Or how CCM took Pearl to the wire in TBA with a team FAR LESS talented than Pearl's.
Ironcity writes:
Team played awesome. Inserting Mcbee was huge and its amazing to me that he has lead the team in minutes the last two games. Didn't like our small lineup but thats what happens when your starting center puffs the magic dragon. I guess we will see him when Vandy comes to town.
Razor784 writes:
Yep look like it's true, is there anyway we can change the name of his street
jt45 writes:
It's just you.
clvolfan writes:
UH !,If you will check, coach Pearl was never able to get a point guard in school. Yeah,I know,he recruited Golden.Maybe with a couple more cook outs,he could have gotten Craft of Buckeye fame.
CincyOhVol writes:
I couldn't agree more.
clvolfan writes:
Since you brought football into this conversation, why did you not ask why the KNS has not reported the committment of the LB BYnam, via Cincinnatti?
pj_ladyvolnMI writes:
Where was Renaldo? His name wasn't even on the list of players. What did I miss?
decades_vol writes:
But even if that was true, UT would still stay at home during March Madness and/or the NIT. They'd be on probation, probably even worse than UConn will be. Show-cause penalties will not take you to tournament land.
BRUCEpart2 writes:
CCM had the guys lookin' quite polished & hungry tonight! Cam had one of his best games of the year, thought Jarnell was gonna break somebodys arm going to the rim like he did a couple of times! GREAT balanced attack tonight.... One at a time guys...one at a time...NEXT!!! p.s. Get your stuff straight Kenny Hall, don't hamstring your teammates down the stretch! GBO
TNORANGEDOGDAD writes:
Can't dribble down court without losing it either.
osbymartin75 writes:
You cant fault UT for that one...even if they hadnt fired him..he still wouldnt be coaching this year because of the show cause penalty the ncaa levied on him....
bvol1inSC writes:
Agreed...could care less about "faces"...as long as it's not "taunting." While Maymon is playing like I thought he could...McRae to me would be most improved on the team, both on offense and defense.
GreeneVol writes:
Martin said something to the effect of 'not sure if we bring him back this year or not, one game at a time'. So we'll see.
We definitely could use him; hopefully he'll get out of the doghouse. But Coach has to be swift and severe when setting the discipline tone, and his handling from that standpoint is far more important than any potential court help Hall can offer.
BSweet writes:
Moronic statement. I've seen more player development in CCM's short tenure than I ever saw in Pearl's time here. If Pearl had actually coached up Hopson, he might have lived up to his AA status. No way Pearl gets as much out of this team as CCM has.
