After a year with the Washington Mystics, center Nicky Anosike will be reunited with former Tennessee teammate Candace Parker.
Anosike was traded by the Mystics to the Los Angeles Sparks, where Parker plays forward, for guard Natasha Lacy and forward LaToya Pringle Sanders.
“It still hasn’t hit me yet — I’m so excited to be a part of the LA Sparks! I know the expectations for me are really high and I’m ready to meet that challenge,” Anosike said in a Sparks release. “I haven’t won a championship since playing with Candace at Tennessee, and I know we’re both focused on being champions again and having fun while doing it.”
Anosike averaged 9.6 points and 7.1 rebounds last season for Washington.
Anosike’s Great Wall team of Beijing won the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association title Tuesday. She averaged a team-high 15.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

LA is gonna be sick with those two on the court at the same time.

One of my favorite LV moments was seeing how happy she was and thankful to Alexis Hornbuckle after the final four win over LSU.
Down by one with 7.4 seconds remaining, Candace brings the ball up and passes to Nicky who is right under the basket for a winning lay up...but she misses...and out of nowhere Alexis is over her back grabbing the rebound and puts it up to win! It was Alexis' only basket of the night! Nicky could not thank her enough. She was crying like a baby realizing Alexis had saved her, and the team. They beat Stanford for the NC the next night.
Nicky is a class act and a very smart and humble young lady. Good Luck in LA.

Also one of my favorites. She was such fun to watch play. Always gave great effort and had some outstanding games. Could hit that little 15 foot jumper from the top of the key when needed. We, who are real fans of the Lady Vols, have so many memories of wonderful young ladies who have entertained us on the basketball court. Keep up the tradition.
