Kentucky officially hired Pat Washington as its wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Monday.
Washington replaces Tee Martin, who accepted a job coaching receivers at Southern Cal.
Reports had been out for the past week about Washington's hire, but Kentucky was required to wait seven days after posting a position to announce a hiring. A release from the school Monday made it official.

Funny UT is hiring ex-sabin/bama people, UK is hiring ex-UT people. Wonder why UK did not go after Phil?

Hiring Phil would have been one of the smartest moves KY could have made..Just like Cal was a great move for KY...

What most people miss is how coaching staff's work....I laugh every time I see a comment about why is Tennessee hiring people from Bama or Saban's assistant. It is about friendship and people that, in Tennessee's case, Derek Dooley trusts. For instance, if you look at Rich Rodriguez at Arizona and his staff, you will see some familiar staff members from WVU and Michigan. Now, not everyone on there staffs are from previous relationships, maybe they are kept on for recruiting purposes or whatever.....
But seriously, get educated about how coaching staffs are put together.

Think Dooley is starting to learn how to put a staff togeter? Not every coach on staff now has the Saban/bama connection now. Maybe Dooley learned something from 2011.

With that in mind it will be interesting to see how Florida does this year. The three coaches that Muschamp had never met before hiring them, have left and been replaced by those he has history with.
Dooley had no history with Wilcox or Sirmon before coming to UT but they did with each other and left together. Chaney was forced on Dooley but reportedly they have become good friends. Maybe Dooley and Wilcox just didn't make that connection.

Poor Joker Phillips. He's hired two of the staff that helped get Coach Fulmer fired. The big boosters wanted to get rid of Sanders and Washington, and Coach Fulmer hung on too long.

just like keeping Phil would have been the smartest thing that you could have done!
