UT commitment Camion Patrick makes Cam Newton do push-ups

With one catch in the end zone, Lenoir City wide receiver Camion Patrick put 2010 Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton onto the ground for 20 push-ups.

The Tennessee commitment and his 7-on-7 team from Knoxville's Next Level Training were participating in the Cam Newton Skills Challenge on June 29 at the IMG Madden 7-on-7 National Championship.

Once Patrick started his wide receiver challenge, which culminated with a catch in the end zone, Newton turned to the Next Level team and placed a 20-push-up bet — centered around Patrick's ability to make the final catch.

If he dropped it, Next Level did push-ups.

A catch meant Newton, the starting quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, dropped and did 20.

Patrick, without receiver gloves as is his custom, hauled in the catch with Newton nearby as a distraction.

You can watch the clip on nextleveltraining.net.

"It felt good," said Patrick of winning the bet. "He had to do 20, but he only did like six."

NICE! I look forward to successful careers from both. XX3 row 7 in the greatest stadium in college football and 109 row 7 in BofA. It begins in one month; 17 home games and 1 Atlanta road trip. 3 doubles (Triangle to Knoxville on Sat., Knoxville to Charlotte to Triangle on Sunday) and one reverse double (Triangle to Charlotte on Thu., Charlotte to Knoxville to Triangle on Sat.). It may be hard but there is no place I would rather be on a Saturday in the fall than Neyland stadium and third row of a NFL game is a delight. If only I could parlay it into a paying job.

Maybe it's a "Heisman thing". Something no ut player or fan would know about.

If it were an Alabama dude, he'd have done 8 and claimed 30.

This could be a way around NCAA violations for gambling. Let's bet "pushups".

We get to watch each Sunday as Florda's recent Heisman winner proves over and over that he still cannot throw a forward pass.

I usually do not respond to idiots. But for this one I will make an exception. When the Broncos, one of the great NFL franchises and one that knows quarterbacks (can we say Elway), had to pick between a young, popular Florida Heisman winner and an aging, coming-off-an-injury, UT runner up, young Mr. Tebo was asked to pack his bags. No slam on Tebo. He's an admirable young man. But let's keep things real on here.

Maybe you could put your eyes to use and watch the video. He does 12. Patrick didn't count them, but he could tell Newton definitely didn't do 20. When he said Newton "only did like six," he was just guessing, and the word "like" indicates it was an estimate. Again, watch the video and count.

I say you're a loud-mouth jerk that somehow equates his successes in life with a college football team's performance and boosts his ego by trolling other teams websites.

In real life, you're the kind of guy I enjoy watching talk a good game just before he gets his @ss handed to him. Gotta love being deployed and trying to read about my team only to see losers like you posting on our topics.

I have not and never will be that kind of guy.

Don't forget putting your junk on somebody's forehead the murder of innocent trees. Get off the computer in the electronics department and get back to the front door and greet people like you're supposed to.

Let's also count zero-win seasons, 8+ loss seasons, and vacated seasons.

What say you, Peter Pan?

I'll let you start counting, outside those NC won before scholly limits, I'll say UT can match or best the wins, conference titles and bowl appearances. Its no secret Bama used ineligible players and broke academic rules to build some of those FB powerhouses back in the day.
