HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — Missouri coach Gary Pinkel says his team won't be intimidated playing in the Southeastern Conference.

Pinkel says there's a perception that "we play a bunch of high school teams." He says the Tigers know they have to earn respect in the SEC, but they have already played in a tough Big 12 Conference.

Pinkel says Missouri fans have gone beyond excitement over playing in the SEC and "have become fanatical about it."

Missouri will open the season with standout quarterback James Franklin and the nation's top prospect in wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.

Franklin had shoulder surgery in March. Pinkel says his trainer said a couple of weeks ago that the dual-threat quarterback is expected to be 100 percent.

Note to Pinkel....Unfortunately for you, not being intimidated is not a requirement for still getting your booty whooped in this league. Welcome to the SEC =)

It should be a great game. The crowd will definitely be in it, their offense will go against one of the better SEC defenses.

I've been a football fan longer than most have lived. I remember Mo having excellent teams many times in the past 70 years. I don't think they are intimidated by anyone. But they sure as Hll have picked to update their every game schedule. The SEC will be very happy with Mo and A&M. They have been there and done that. Neither team is going to lay on their back and hist their leg. No they are goodies and we have upgraded the SEC. Welcome the double Do's to the SEC and give them heck. They'll love it.

And then we have folks like you who are just plain ignorant ... without bliss.

You have a nice day.
