Marco Gonzales of Gonzaga twirled his second gem of the tournament, striking out nine in eight innings of one-run ball, and the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team held off a furious ninth-inning rally to defeat the Netherlands, 4-3, and claim the bronze medal at Honkbal Week Sunday afternoon at Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem, Netherlands.
"It was a fun summer," said Team USA manager Dave Serrano, who coaches Tennessee. "Obviously we didn't get the medal we wanted to, but we will walk out of this stadium proud with a medal around our necks."
Diving: Tennessee senior Jordan Mauney qualified for his second event at the summer nationals by finishing fourth on the platform at the USA Diving national preliminary zone B championships in Moultrie, Ga.
With a career-best score of 339 points, Mauney claimed one of the five spots available at the AT&T national diving championships next month in Greensboro, N.C. Mauney also will dive in the 3-meter springboard.

Women's Track: Former Lady Vol Chanelle Price ran a career best 2 minutes, 0.15 seconds in the 800 meters Saturday, finishing third at the Flanders Cup meet in Ninove, Belgium.
