Andrew Toles, who had an abbreviated career at Tennessee, was picked in the third round of the Major League Baseball draft Tuesday by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Toles, a center-fielder, hit .270 as a freshman at UT in 2011. He was dismissed from the team last fall by new coach Dave Serrano.
Toles played this spring at Chiploa College in Florida.
He was the 119th player taken in the draft and the first with UT connections.
Toles is the son of former UT linebacker Alvin Toles.

Does anybody know what led to his dismissal?
I thought after Raleigh ran off so many juniors that had no business entering the draft (like PJ Polk) that Toles would be a great replacement in center field.
Well, it seems to have worked out for Toles since if memory serves me he was a 4th rd pick by the Marlins before he decided to attend UT
