NASHVILLE — Shekinna Stricklen scored 18 points in the second half to lead No. 13 Tennessee to a 68-57 win over Vanderbilt on Friday in the Southeastern Conference tournament quarterfinals.
Stricklen found herself on the bench with two fouls with about 12 minutes to go in the first half, in which she went scoreless. The second-seeded Lady Volunteers held a 45-44 lead when a 3-pointer by Stricklen launched a 9-2 run that gave them control of the game.
Tennessee (22-8) shot 50 percent and held seventh-seeded Vanderbilt to 34.5 percent shooting in the game, which included an extended halftime because of a threat of severe weather in the Nashville area.
The Lady Vols will face either No. 25 South Carolina or No. 16 Georgia on Saturday.
Christina Foggie led the Commodores (22-9) with 16 points, and Stephanie Holzer had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

When were up 32-13 with 3 minutes 30 seconds left, I felt the coaches failed us. We should of kept fresh bodies in, and put the metal to the pedal at that point. I knew we would come out flat the 2nd half!
Luckily, Shekinna got going finally. I'm glad the game went in our favor, the officiating was really bad at times. However, I would just love for us to get South Carolina next LOL...We would love to show them how much we improved since the last meeting. Hehehehehe

Terrible job of coaching. Should never take Simmons out of a game.

I thought the same at the time. On the up side, maybe she will will be rested with lots of energy today.
Williams did a good job replacing Massingale.
Spani has not recovered.
Baugh needs to step it up on offense. Practice lay ups.
Team needs more movement on offense passing and screening, pick and roll.
I think they will be ready today!
