Vols tabbed for final day at 2012 SEC Media Days

Derek Dooley and yet-to-be-determined members of the Tennessee football team will take the stage on the third and final day of the 2012 SEC Football Media Days in Hoover, Ala., the league announced today.

Dooley and the Vols will follow Alabama coach Nick Saban and his selected players on July 19 at the annual circus-like event at the Wynfrey Hotel. The third day has been a typical landing spot for the Vols, who will only precede Ole Miss and Georgia.

Despite the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the rotation, the event will run its same traditional length of three days. The Tigers and Aggies will both get their turn on the stage during the first day, July 17. Six teams will share the stage on the second day.

Last year, senior defensive tackle Malik Jackson, senior running back Tauren Poole and junior offensive tackle Dallas Thomas served as the Vols' player representatives at Media Days.

More information about the event will be released at a later date.

Welcome to the Circus, all you Mizzou Tigers and Aggies fans. Be careful what you say in Hoover, because if you say the wrong thing, you will hear it all season long.

The season is 6 1/2 months away, and you are already negative. Boy, I'm glad I don't have to live with all the negativity on this site!

...and your reason for being is...?

Think Orange! Go Vols!!!

I hope Dooley brings Hunter with him, he has been out so long, would like to see him in orange again. UT will probably be voted last in the east, oh well bassketball Vols were voted to be losers, look how that ended! Vols will have a better year.

It is unprompted and totally negative. This is also a public forum, so say whatever you want to say, but it is what it is. More of our signature negativity. Go vols.

I hear what you're saying but I'm just saying don't paint yourself into a corner. If they lose those two but go 10-2 for the season are you still going to feel the season was over September 15? Of course not. Just like the season wasn't over for CCM after getting blown out by Vandy and Kentucky.

If loss #5 occurs and it isn't even Halloween yet, I might start leaning toward your perspective.

OKAY...now what? Media Days will look better through the Atlanta paper's eyes. See Chattanooga paper for Geogia stuff, Tennessean for South Carolina stuff, etc., etc., etc.
Is Florida still in the SEC?...oh gee, I was hoping they had moved to the Big East.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dooley brought the no players and just the Orange Dog...

When CPF lost 2 in a row to ACC and all those others in the Ga. Dome,I'll bet you were one who said "oh that's ok we'll get'em next year".
Well,we heard that a lot in those days, did we not?

You DIS the outstanding WR at every opportunity. Are you proud of yourself? Has the DIS-ing helped or harmed the Vols? Or do you care?

I wonder if your moniker is a play on "bi-polar" or "bi" something else. Don't bother with an answer, I believe we already know.

I like your post because I agree that no player should be picked over our coach and the university is bigger than both. I have to add that I am hoping that Dooley will get control of that situation because he is a game changer and with Hunter back and our freshman wideouts he will not see much double coverage. I also am hoping that Cuonzo gets K Hall back on track but if not we will say our goodbyes because the team is first regardless of talent(see Janzen Jackson). The fanbase will have alot to be proud of this year, remember haters are going to hate! I'm sure they are around, but likely under different screen names. Cowards always find places to hide. G.B.O.!!!!

I'm waiting to see what happens when Vandy and Mizzou play each other. Two teams with the same color scheme. It will be like fathers day in Memphis.

I was there as well with Vol fans from Texas. I remember Carl Pickens playing receiver and safety, Seeing a good Arkansas team run the option offense, and my friends and I getting a salute from John Majors after the game. Awesome!!

The worst time of year is after spring football is over, and then having to endure baseball season. April, May, June and July are almost unbearable. That is why I buy as many pre-season football magazines as I can find to hold me over until August. For me, media days are a sign of a new beginning and a fresh start. everything is well with the world. G.B.O.!!!

forget my post trashing you as iim sure you will see, i was under the impression you were not a tennessee fan as i saw so many people trashing you on other articles. i do understand where you are coming from. however, even if he was messin' up, i do not agree with a fan of our beloved vols, callin one of them a derogatory name, even if he is mr im leavin after next year cause i want money. we need da'rick. he is a 1,000 yard receiver and makes some pretty athletic grabs. with him and hunter back, and what iv'e seen on youtube of cordarelle patterson, i believe in my heart of hearts we have a top 5 receiving corps coming back. i know derek dooley is not the coach we hoped for, be he is a good man who wants to make good decisions for the university. hey he got rid of janzen jackson, who was almost as good as eric berry, but he had worse attitude issues than dr'rick, plus he was a pot head. give the kid one more chance to show he can act right. if he starts his b.s. this year, then i'm with you on tellin him to kick rocks. GBO!!!!!!!

There is no way we will be last in the east. My early prediction is:

Georgia
South Carolina
Tennessee/Florida
Missouri
Vandy
Kentucky

I don't think that would stop us from having a winning season. But I think we will win both of those games and beat Ga.
9-3 plus a bowl
Go Vols

If one were to look back in time , I think they would find that UT is a slow starter. Auburn wouldn't play us unless it was one of the first games of the season. WE are just a little further north than some of the other teams and need to warm up.

WHY in the NAME of CLOGGING UP THE BOARD do you feel like you have to respond to every single post. COME ON MAN!!!!...just contact KNS and get your own column. But, "Richis reborn" is worse than you. I, myself, and other posters that I know usually just skip you and "rich_________." We're thinking you might be the same...after all, you do have the "bi" in your moniker.

If others out there would like to see these guys EASE UP A LITTLE, please let them know. It is called VERBAGE without KNOWLEDGE.

Yeah, Hoover ALABAMA -- the place Slive said he was going to move away from after all those Alabama rednecks treated Fulmer so badly and made a circus out of the event. Slive still hasn't moved it, and never will.

By the way, don't just move the SEC Media Days out of Alabama. MOVE THE SEC HEADQUARTERS OUT OF ALABAMA. Where to? I don't care - Chicago, Seattle, anywhere outside Alabama. Geography alone tells us that 90% of the secretaries, janitors, and all the other support personnel at SEC headquarters - and some would say even Slive himself -- are Alabama fans.

Move it to a non-SEC town, like Memphis.
