Reggie McKenzie is creating a Tennessee West — or at least Austin-East High School West — with the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders announced that they have hired former New York Jets vice president of college scouting Joey Clinkscales as their new director of player personnel as part of a front office restructuring. Clinkscales was a wide receiver for UT 1984-86.

After playing two seasons in the NFL, Clinkscales spent 17 seasons with the Jets and was in charge of the past five NFL drafts.

McKenzie, who is in his first season as general manager of the Raiders, played for the Vols 1981-84 and is a A-E graduate along with Clinkscales.

The Raiders also said McKenzie’s twin brother, Raleigh, will be a college scout. The A-E grad was a center for UT 1982-84.

Finally, Larry Marmie was hired as a pro scout. Marmie was UT’s defensive coordinator for two stints in 1983-84 and 1992-94.

Marmie recently was an assistant in the United Football League after coaching for three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. Marmie has been a defensive coordinator with the St. Louis Rams (2004-05) and the Arizona Cardinals (2000-03) and was coach at Arizona State (1988-91).
