Tennessee advanced to Saturday night's NCAA softball regional elimination game by run-ruling UAB, 8-0, Saturday afternoon at Lee Stadium.
The fifth-ranked Lady Vols (47-11) play Miami (Ohio) at 6:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to play Virginia Tech (42-19) at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Tennessee will need to win tonight and twice Sunday to advance to the Super Regionals.
Virginia Tech defeated the RedHawks, 6-0, in Saturday's first game in the double-elimination regional.
The Lady Vols scored four runs in the top of the fifth against the Blazers, batting through the order.
Junior pitcher Ivy Renfroe shut down UAB (37-22) in the fifth to seal the victory and end the Blazers' season.
Renfroe, who retired 19 in a row after giving up a run in the first inning of Friday's 1-0 loss to the RedHawks, came on in relief of sister Ellen Renfroe with two outs and the bases loaded in the second inning on Saturday.
Ivy Renfroe retired all 10 batters she faced.
UT senior Shelby Burchell led the Lady Vols with a 3-for-3 hitting performance.
