True freshman cornerback Daniel Gray will get his first career today when Tennessee faces Troy.

The Vols (3-5) and Trojans (4-4) kick off at 12:08 p.m. at Neyland Stadium (TV: FSN).

Tennessee is trying to avoid its first five-game losing streak since 1988.

Gray will be the second true freshman to earn a start in the Vols' struggling secondary, joining safety LaDarrell McNeil.

Running back Devrin Young will miss the game with a concussion. Cordarrelle Patterson and Alton "Pig" Howard will handle kickoff return duties, while either Patterson or Justin Hunter will take punt returns in place of Young.

Don't need to start new Def backs - the ones on the field at the start of the year played pretty well last year when they had a DC. FIRE SAL!!

51-TD pass. That is sick!

Why don't we announce to the media that Gray is starting so Troy can key him....keeping it quiet wouldn't help Troy any....ugh.

He got the start... And he gave up a 15 yd penalty on a PI... Then a meaningless late hit that gave Troy a first down and then later in the drive had a front row seat as he got beat for a 50 yd touchdown pass. But it's not bad coaching or anything... It's really all the fault of a 19 year old true freshman.... Yeah that's who I'm blaming it on.
