Troy leads Tennessee 40-34 after three quarters at Neyland Stadium.

Both teams kicked a field goal but Troy added a touchdown on Deon Anthony's 3-yard pass to Eric Thomas.

The Vols blew a scoring chance when Alton Howard fumbled at the Troy 4.

The Trojans dominated the second quarter, scoring touchdowns on three consecutive possessions to overturn a 28-10 UT lead.

Shawn Southward scored on a 1-yard run, then Anthony hit Chip Reeves for 51 yards to cut UT's lead to 28-23.

After a missed field goal from Michael Palardy, Troy drove for the go-ahead score on quarterback Anthony's 28-yard run.

Troy led 30-28. Tennessee drove for a first-and-goal but settled for a 21-yard Palardy field goal as the half ended.

In the first quarter, the Vols got touchdowns on all three possessions. Tyler Bray threw TD passes of 14 yards to Cordarrelle Patterson and 21 to Justin Hunter.

Marvin Lane scored on a 17-yard run.

Troy got a 7-yard touchdown run from Shawn Southward and a field goal from Will Scott.

Bray and Hunter connected early in the second quarter to put UT up 28-10.

It currently sucks to be a Tennessee Vol, I said it sucks to be a Tennessee Vol. Dooley should do the respectable thing and quit. It is pathetic.

Sunseri could be a double agent for Alabama out to destroy the Vols.

The "mess" that Dooley inherited will pale in comparison to the "mess" the next coach gets stuck with.

Even when you are in the right, you find a way to sound like a complete moron.

If Hart says that, it means Dooley, not Hart, hired Sunseri. I'd not discriminate and fire them both.

Let's face it. Last season's loss at Kentucky was all we needed to know about the coaching staff. This game is about to ellipse it. Enough is enough.

Time of possession Troy 31 plus minutes; Tn 19.
What does that tell you?

Don't be confused by Dooley's picture in the article. He is actually practicing his golf swing.

Whether Tennessee wins or loses, you are correct.

(also it's "eclipse" not ellipse)

Obviously it takes 2-3 years to implelment "Try not to let the other guy catch the ball."

I see the plays some of our defensive players make and one thing is obvious- we have much better talent on our side of the ball. So why aren't we playing better? Only one other place to look. This defensive staff needs to run up an down the steps in Neyland Stadium, apologize to both players and fans, return this past month's paychecks, re-read that 3-4 for Dummies book, ... (to be continued).

Their WR catches it one handed in the middle of the field and runs away with it for a go-ahead score. Our WR drops a touchdown pass in the breadbasket, in the endzone.

What do you think? Grantham first year at Georgia installing the 3-4 was the first and only losing season Mark Richt had. The following year he held UT, UF, UA to a COMBINED TOTAL of 55 yards rushing. Takes awhile to teach that big nose and develop those tall corners and Hawk linebackers.
just sayin'
